Help Me Find A Time With Low Crowds.

I have a problem. Our family has always gone to Disney World in September. But now both me and my mom are in college and can't go then.

So anyways can I get your opinions on a good time to go to Orlando? These are the times we can go

From the third week of May to the third week of August

The week before Christimas

The third week of March

Please help! We've been blessed with low lines during our last trips and I know we won't be able to handle heavy crowds.

Definately the week before Christmas. The parks are nearly empty, the resorts are all on value prices, and the holiday decorations are up. The parks are nice and quiet up until Christmas time.

There is no question with the dates you have...This is the best time to go.

Also...The weather is terrific. Sometimes a little cool, but usually very comfortable.

Right on the money! DisneyInsider is 100% correct.

Not usually...

During the day it gets warm enough (usually) for you to swim. And since they heat all the water around Disney you can swim at your resort or at a Water Park without freezing.

Last week in August! We went last year at that time. Seriosuly, when World Showcase opened up at 11, we were the only ones walking around there for about 1/2 hour!

Hi LUKE1984 and WELCOME!!

DISNEYINSIDER is correct about the best choice of dates from among those you have listed.

Your post made me think of something I always have to remind my family and friends of....

Having "no crowds" is not a profitable undertaking for Disney and they will adjust the staffing and park hours to correspond with attendance.

I always find it funny that so many people want to have the whole park to themselves, when the crowds ARE part of the magic.

No Crowds = No Money = No Park Hours.

All that aside, I usually have my Annual Meeting for work two weeks before Christmas at WDW and it really is one of THE BEST times to be there.

The Holiday decorations are all up, the Christmas activities are in full swing in all of the parks, and the "crowds" are all home packing for their trip during Christmas week!

Have Fun!

We arrive at WDW on December 13th and leave on December 21st. I understand that this is one of the slowest periods of the year for WDW. I have never seen WDW in Christmas mode, so this will indeed be a treat for us. I am planning to pack shorts and jeans for the trip and carry a jacket too. I doubt it will be that cold. We live in GA, so we more or less know what to expect. There is very little rain in December as a rule, but we have rain ponchos ready just in case.

I am really looking forward to this vacation. I am planning to do MVMCP, CP, and planning plenty of time to see the Osbourne Lights. Have fun planning your trip! Mickey

Thanks for all your replies.

My mom said that the week in Dec. was definetly out now. We'll be in college taking finals and she says she'll need that week to get Christmas gifts. :(

So after going from August to May I just said go for May. They scheduled it a while ago and we're going May 17th to May 25th. I know the crowds will be higher than our last trip in Septemeber but I doubt we'll run into trouble. We have two good things going for us though. Most kids won't be out of school and it might be slower due to all the terriosm fears.

I think the Star Wars Weekends sound fun though. It will probally be very busy in Disney Studios those days right?

Also do you guys have any idea if the new rides will be open. I'm talking out the Mickey show, Mission Space, Jimmy Neutron, and Shrek. I'd like to see at least 2 of them.
