(2nd time posting this...1st one disappeared:veryconfu)
Okay, needing help. We are leaving the world tomorrow  I don't know why this is just now occured to me...I guess denial that I would HAVE to leave. We are leaving Poly tomorrow AM via DME. We are flying out Southwest so they can't check our luggage here at the hotel. We have 2 kids, 4 and 1, both in strollers plus our 6 (WAY too much shopping) bags to check. I was planning on renting a luggage cart to carry the luggage but I may have to throw a kid and a stoller on top of it so that we have enough hands to push everything! How far is the Southwest check in from where DME drops you off? Any suggestions on making this easier less stressful?? My loving husband HATES to fly so the easier this process is the better. Soon as we get through security that is his green light to pop his Ativan. Thanks in advance!!

Have you considered hiring a sherpa?:ROFLOL:

Sorry I can't be of much help, other than to let you know that I've been there and done that. Your post brings back a lot of memories, mostly of the worst backaches of my entire life.

My only suggestion would be to put all the luggage and one stroller on a luggage cart, and put the 4 year old securely in the other stroller and let him/her hold the baby while one of you pushes.

When I look back on our travels with real little ones, it seems to me there was always some nice person in OIA that would see our predicament and help us out. Once we got back to New York/New England we were on our own.

Hope you have a safe trip home.

We used to practically rip our arms out carrying carseat, kid, stroller, bags etc. When we had my daughter we decided to invest $10-15 in a skycap/redcap/whatever you call them and it's the best money we spend every trip.

We were in a somewhat similar situation last year. Really wish the DME early check-in would work with the only airline worth flying these days.

As for lugging stuff, the resort should be able to get it from your room to the bus for you, and I think you can borrow a cart if you want to DIY. Once at the airport, I believe I remember some luggage carts where the bus drops you off.

Its a reasonably short walk from the bus stop to the ticket counter (you may have to go up a floor or two, I don't remember, but there are elevators) and I assume you will be checking your heaviest stuff. From the ticket counter to the gate, it is a fairly similar distance no matter what airline you fly. All the check in is in the middle building and the gates radiate out like a wheel. You will need to hop a tram to your concourse and then it is another short-longish walk to the gate.

Edit: Didn't see this, was trying to remember their name:
invest $10-15 in a skycap/redcap/whatever you call them.

This is your best bet. Should be at a counter I think when you get off the bus.
