So I've been using a sony cybershot for the past year and half and it recently bit the dust. Sad considering I paid over $200 for it not too long ago

So now I need a new camera and I would like to buy it before my next trip to Disney on the 25th of this month.

I love taking pictures and making albums/scrapbooks. The last trip we took was to Hawaii on our honeymoon and I took over 500 pictures :) Normally, I like to just keep the camera on the automatic setting and click away. However, I wouldn't mind upgrading to something a little better this time around. As long as there is a good zoom and it is relatively easy to use. Also, one thing I did like about the Sony Cybershot was that the camera came with a rechargable battery pack so I never had to buy AA's or lithiums. So I would like something like that this time around too.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I would like to stay around or under the $250 mark.
thanks!

I use a Nikon D60, however I bought a point and shoot this summer for times when I do not feel like lugging my dslr around.

I decided on the Canon Power Shot SD780 IS. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. I used to have a sony cybershot, and I hated it. This little Canon blows my old sony out of the water. It also takes great HD video.

Even though I chose Nikon for my DSLR purchase, I went with the Canon for my point and shoot because I liked it better and read more positive reviews about it then then Nikon point and shoots.

And honestly, for my purposes, if I had purchased this Canon before I purchased my dslr, I might not have felt the need to even buy a dslr since I keep my dslr on auto all of the time anyway. The Canon is that good. Of course this is speaking for myself as a casual photographer. But I also scrapbook alot, so I want great pictures....and so far the Canon has given me awesome pictures. I recently went to a concert and took some shots with my Canon that look professional....I was amazed at the high quality. I'm sure the lighting on stage had alot to do with it, but I have never gotten pics that good at a concert before.
