Help! - "Concierge Light" CR Questions

We have April (9th - 17th) ressies at CR on the 12th ("Tower Club") floor.

I have looked high and low to understand all of the differences between this floor's "limited concierge" service and the full service given on the 14th floor, but I haven't found out:

(1) Can you make room requests to the concierge staff before you arrive -- and, if so, when and how do you contact them? (I have heard that the concierge staff actually gets in touch with 14th floor guests, but I assume this doesn't happen with the 12th floor guests.)

and

(2) Does the 12th floor offer its own check in (as the 14th apparently does), or do you just check in at the 1st floor front desk?

Much thanks to anyone who can help!

Hey there! I love the Contemporary and stay there all the time when I go...and stayed on the 12 floor the last several times I have stayed there.

These are the things I experienced while staying there:

*You still check in at the front desk of the hotel with everyone else.

*Breakfast (donuts, cereal, bagels etc) is available in the mornings, cookies and coffee during the afternoon.

*There is a conierge desk near the elevators and they will gladly assist you with any PS, tickets, park info etc. The last time I stayed there they were only at the desk from 8am until 5pm. but you could call them on your in room phone (I believe this connected you to the 14th floor folks.

*I was contacted shortly after making my reservations and then at 0 and 30 days out by the staff to see if i needed anything.

Hope that answers your questions..if you have any more, drop me a PM, I will gladly help out. I love the 12 floor at the contemporary its just like home! :D

I'm about to leave now for a nice long weekend at POR! Wahoo...Trip report and pics next week.

Thanks a bunch, Jungle Skipper! That's really good to know. (I made my reservation about 3 weeks ago and haven't heard from anyone except for getting the standard confirmation form -- I'll be on the lookout for them.)

Have a great weekend trip!

If anyone else has had really different experiences, I'd love to know that, too.

Thanks for all the info. everyone, especially the photo. Hardly the Ritz, but actually a little better than I had been led to expect.

The cost, at least on the "Spring Dreammaker" package, is a little less than $50 extra/night, so if the four of us eat enough donuts etc. we may make up for it (plus the higher floor and at least some concierge help with ps, etc.).

Thanks again!

(Other experiences/views still welcome!)
