Help Choosing Park Days!

Hi all!

First time poster/long time lurker here! I’m planning a late Aug. / early Sept. trip for my SO and I (early 30s) and am trying to figure out how to best split up our park time. We’ve both been to Disney before but this is our first time staying on site and doing a split stay. Right now we have a regular 6 day park ticket. Below are our baseline plans:

- Arrive 8/29 around 11 am
- Stay at AK 8/29 check out 8/30
- Stay at Poly 8/30 - 9/1
- BooBash 8/31
- Stay at YC 9/1 - 9/3
- Late flight out 9/3 so plan on doing a park in the morning that day
- We would like to take advantage of the monorail/Skyliner when possible, but we don’t mind taking Uber to avoid busses.
- We plan on having Disney luggage transfer between resorts

What do you think is the best order to visit the parks? Since we’ve been before were looking for a bit of a slower paced trip. We aren’t morning people so I anticipate we will be getting a late-ish start most days around 10/11 and we will be taking afternoon breaks back at the hotel on our late night days.

Is it worth it to upgrade to PH tickets? We also plan on doing a few hours at Disney Springs.

This is what I would do:

8/29 AKL — Animal Kingdom
8/30 AKL to Poly — Magic Kingdom
8/31 Poly, Boo Bash — Hotel morning, MK party
9/1 Poly to YC — DHS (for ROTR boarding pass)
9/2 YC — Epcot
9/3 YC — DHS (second try for boarding pass)

This plan doesn’t require 6 day tickets. If you haven’t stayed at Poly, or even if you have, you might enjoy checking out the hotel. You could also visit the other MK resorts. If you didn’t want to do that I would probably add another Epcot day since you have the monorail access. You can get into MK at 7 with your Boo Bash ticket.

edit: could swap the last two days in case you got a late boarding group, you might not be able to use it depending on your flight time.

Have fun!
