Hi! I'm new here as well. Once a year is fabulous! What's you're favorite park?
It's sad, I love MK and EPCOT so much that we never go to any of the other parks. EPCOT is the go to rest and imbibe day when we aren't at MK. My kids are little, so it's hard to justify DHS since I know they wouldn't be able to enjoy a lot of the attractions. I hear AK is great, but you know I'd rather go to MK over and over again. Joy, sprinkles, glitter, magic, fireworks, rest, repeat.

How about you?

Oh your littles would love Animal Kingdom! The safari ride is great or the Dinosaur area is great for young kids. I loved AK, we sat in front of or at the Dawa bar in Africa and watched the African band play while kiddos danced in the 'street'. That's actually my favorite memory. You should at least do AK once while they're little.

What is the 'it' factor for you at MK? Is it the classic storybook-ness? I loved MK's fireworks, and Adventureland. Ok also the castle. I could look at the artwork inside that castle walk thru for hours.

For Epcot do you like the rides or World Showcase best?

I enjoy all of the lands in MK. The total immersion when you step into each land is the draw for me.

The moment when I cross the little bridge and step under the Adventureland sign, it's like "Bam, this is a whole new world and every CM is in character, every detail is perfect". The building bridge (Columbia Harbour House upstairs dining room) from Liberty Square to Fantasyland is the same for me; there's a bit of magic in those few steps - one side is a quaint 18th century colonial American town, the other medieval Europe. Watch me nerd on Walt Disney and the Imagineers: besides the customer service and design aspects of MK, I'm fascinated by the technologies, engineering and massive organizing principles used to create the attractions. Animatronics and the uncanny valley, conveyor belt fun, and just the idea that somehow thousands of workers are managed well enough to pull it off perfectly everyday. I work in IT and I manage a large group of people, sometimes I can just see WDW as a part of a business that's getting the technology right and lining up the workforce under the company's guiding principles. And as an adult reading bedtime stories every night, I'm super nostalgic about Disney animated fairy tales - Snow White, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty & the Beast, etc.

EPCOT past is sentimental to me. I visited the first time when I was a little kid and the park had only been open 3 or 4 years. MK seemed babyish to me at the time, I was 8 and didn't appreciate the practical magic of pulling that off. EPCOT's vision of an idealized future and the neato world's fair stuff got me as a kid. Now the park has diverged so far from Walt's utopian vision, Future World is harder to love. The World Showcase still has the immersive magic. But as an adult, it's a place to chill out, get a cold grapefuit beer and shop for French perfume between MK binges. Wide walkways, good food, ample outdoor seating and smaller crowds are a blessing when the dogs are barking from yesterday's 15 hour day a MK.

Oh gosh, you totally have me more interested in MK now! I wish I would have chatted with you before our trip. I'm Google imaging Liberty square now:) I also appreciate the organization of all those CMs, crazy to think about. My Hubby would like to be in IT and I'd like him to be a bit more into Disney, I'll bring up what you pointed out in our next Disney memories talk:)
