Height requirement for mine train?

I tried to search but I kept being waylaid by some argument about a log bridge...

Anyway, does anyone expect a height requirement for the mine train?? Have there been any rumblings out there about this?

Thanks!

I don't think anyone knows specifics, but a height limit is inevitably going to exist due to the nature of the type of attraction this is. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it will probably be similar to the Barnstormer's height limit (which I don't know offhand). If not that then slightly higher, but i'm guessing well below Big Thunder or Space Mountain. It's still geared towards children so it's certainly not going to require being THAT tall.

The barnstormer is currently 36 inches a height a normal three year old can be. There are a few rides at 38 inches and than a larger jump to 42 plus.

We can guess somewhere in that ballpark with some reasonability.

The Barnstormer actually has a height requirement of 35". I'm sure the Mine Train will be somewhere between that and the 40" requirement of Big Thunder.

MK Height requirements vary a little bit, and I don't know if there's any reason behind it, but there they are

32" to ride on the Tomorrowland Speedway
35" for Barnstormer
40" for Splash Mt., Big Thunder Mt., and Stich's Escape
44" for Space Mt.
54" to drive on the Tomorrowland Speedway

I know the height requirements for the current rides, just have my fingers crossed that the height requirement will NOT be 40". 35" would be great, which is my hope since this is a fantasyland ride, 38" would be doable. 40" we don't have a chance of reaching :(

I doubt you have much to worry about. I cannot imagine the Mine Train having the same height requirement as Splash Mountain or Big Thunder, that would be absurd to me when both of those rides are much more thrilling and intense than Mine Train will be. From insiders here, Mine Train is going to be similar in thrills to the Barnstormer, just longer and with much better theming. The swinging cars are the only thing I could see having an effect on the height limit, though Lee here has said it's going to be a very mild and limited range of motion so shouldn't really be very intense at all. If this does affect the height limit, I would guess it's not going to be very dramatic. Maybe a couple of inches over Barnstormer. Though again I think it's safe to say it's going to be below Big Thunder and Splash.

So it's probably a safe bet to say it'll be 38" or below. There's no way I would imagine it requiring the same height limit as Splash or Big Thunder. We shall see though.

Stitch's Great Escape has a 40" requirement.

Stitch's Great Escape has a 40" requirement.
Which is most likely related to the nature of the restraints and not the intensity. Mine Train has no shoulder restraints, just a lap bar similar to Big Thunder or Barnstormer. There's no way I can see Mine Train having the same height limit as Big Thunder or Splash Mountain.

I personally think 44" for Space is too small, my daughter reaches that height but without me physically reassuring her she is not riding it. I preferred it when it wasn't individual seats. I've seen kids go through Space the same size as my daughter and every time the CM has asked for height check AFTER the ride at exiting.

Space is 40" in DL. It's a smoother ride than WDW's version, but still...

We took my (then) 4.5 year old on it, he's a thrill ride junkie, but got scared. Though it was the dark that scared him more than the movement.

Ironically, the Matterhorn now has a 42" requirement, despite being a less intense ride than Space or BTM.

That sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen...

It is actually related to wanting to control the target audience b/c they think it's too scary for toddlers. The height requirement of Stitch is lower than that of Alien Encounter, and they obviously use the same restraints, so that's not it. Personally, I think Stitch's height requirement should be

I know!, My daughter meets the height, but is a super skinny Minnie with thighs like sparrows and I know she would fly out the seat.

I wish there were big mahoosive signs on Great Movie Ride about the Alien scene. Considering that has NO height restriction, my kids have been scared witless. We didn't have enough hands to cover ears and eyes of the 3 kids!

Hmmm, that didn't come out right, my reply got mixed up in the quote lol:
