Good Morning Disneyaerians. After putting a cheeky response this morning ( not like me,eh ) about someone asking if men & woman would be allowed to wear bathing attire whilst walking round the parks.( God forbid ) How healthy food wise are you, when eating at Disney.Do you throw that diet sheet to the wind? Or do you watch how much junk food you eat on vacation? Or do you just say " To hell with it,burgers, dogs,& fries, here I come "? I tend to go for the middle option.Yeh,I love a burger or dog on vacation, wouldn't be the same without it. But with so many new healthy options now available ( give yourself a clap Disney ) I come and go with what I put in my body.So are you (1) A Greaseball (2) Now & Again (3) Health Nut.? ;)

I am a MS Health Teacher. So 90% of the time I eat fresh items only. I excercise 4/5 times per week. But when we are in WDW.. I eat whatever I want! I do sometimes split a meal with my teenage daughter.. I also have one sweet treat per day. I try to excercise a couple of times while there BUT I still gain 5/10 pounds before we leave... :)

Like Miss Figgy, I keep it pretty close to home while in Disney. I do indulge in an adult beverage or two in the evening with dinner or if we are in Epcot enjoying the show case.

IMHO I am happy for the healthy options popping up in Disney World. I remember a time I ALMOST didn't want to visit the world because thinking of food was stressful.

Biggest reason why I do the deluxe dining plan and schedule one nice sit down meal a day..I cant do junk food for 7 straight days...I eat what I want whilst in the Kingdom..but want to have good food..I love Caseys...but I cant do it 24x7..on th eflip side I rarely drink much any more...and rare is the day I drink at Disney...(New Years Eve being the recent exception) more from a standpoint that alcohol dehydrates which is never good at a place you walk endlessly and sleep little

I am not a super healthy eater at home, but I try to limit myself as much as I can. When I am at Disney, I tend to eat whatever I am in the mood for. I don't go crazy with the fatty stuff but I figure I am on vacation I gotta treat myself a little. I work as a mailman so I spend about six hours a day walking, plus all those darn steps. I think my job helps keep off the pounds plus the health benefits from all the walking are helpful. At least I hope.

I just had a banana, peanut butter, sugar free chocolate, spinach and flaxseed smoothie. At WDW I eat whatever the heck I want, but don't go crazy with it. I even eat desserts that I am not supposed to.

I eat extremely healthy all year, and when my feet hit Disney property, I completely lose my mind. I rarely eat beef, or fried foods, but when at Disney, all I can think of is funnel cakes, bacon cheeseburgers (well half of one anyway), chicken tenders and fried fish.. not to mention Caseys bbq slaw dog. My dietary concerns fly right out the window as soon as I pass under Disney's sign!! LOL

I am, def, somewhere in the middle. We eat mostly whole foods here at home. In DW we certainly vary off the path. There are moments in DW when I just crave a salad or vegetable and can no longer eat anything heavy. My DH and I split a lot of meals which really helps.

We drink much more while on vacation than we normally do. My DH is on call but two weeks a year and we enjoy the time we have!

From the moment the Pooh train leaves for the WDW station, it is completely derailed! While I will have an occasional beverage while not at WDW, I definitely am out to try all those wonderful margaritas, slushes, etc. that I've looked forward to all year. The same goes with all the special cupcakes and treats....bring them on! ;)

OMG. This info helps me stay a vegetarian. It's mighty hard for a person whose FIL was a cattle rancher and who always had a freezer full of meat. I haven't had beef in 12 years, but I've only been vegetarian for almost two years.
I am thankful there are so many choices for me at WDW now, even though most are cooked in a much more unhealthy way than I would prepare the foods at home. I almost never have dessert at home, but who on earth can pass up Edy's cookies and crème ice cream, waffle sandwich and cinnamon rolls in MK? It's not this old girl.

We aren't crazy health nuts at home - we exercise daily (well the fiance does...I'm more...every other day:D) and eat healthy some days - eat unhealthy the next.

But at Disney? All bets are off. I diet and exercise so that when I go to Disney...I don't have to. I rarely drink any pop (soda) but at Disney - gotta have that Disney coke! Cupcakes? Sure why not! I want to fully enjoy my entire vacation and for me that means not checking caloric content on food!

I guess I am middle of the road - at home and in WDW.

Luckly I guess I am not a huge sweets fan. The occassional dessert yes, but I don't go insane over candy bar falvored cupcakes, or giant ice cream dishes, or gooey piles of sugar. Heck, I don't even like the famous Mickey Premium Bar. I also tend to eat smaller sized portions, again both at home and at WDW. I like meat, but I also like vegetables. Normaly I have a big salad with dinner - a good salad - dark green lettuces, tomato, onion, carrots, etc - not iceberg with chopped egg, ham, and ranch dressing. I love a good bagel with cream cheese, but I don't do that too often.

I guess at WDW I do "let my guard down" a bit, because when I cook at home I don't do a lot of heavy cream sauces or use a lot of fatty meats or cheeses. But when at WDW if I am eating at a table service and they have something that has a sauce or cheese, I am likely to get it. Not to mention that most restarunat food has lots of butter in/on it anyway.

Ya know Dave, you hit the nail on the head. I never, and I mean never eat dessert at home, but when Im at Disney, I sure do!!! Same with cheese... as much as I love it, I watch how much I eat but at Disney, I could eat my foot if it was covered with cheese

Even though we go regularly and we tend to stay for quite a while, we still often go out like park commandos on a high speed mission. I burn a lot of calories and cover a lot of territory. Therefore, I have convinced myself that anything I consume calorie wise I will rapidly burn up. So let it all hang out and roll out the endless buffets, plates bigger than my head, bottomless beverages, and let the big dog eat. I can justify it being ok in my own mind :D
