Also, they sent out an e-mail today talking about upcoming changes in addition to the new boarding procedures (which roll out tomorrow at all airports, apparently). Most changes are to booking, with most geared toward the business or super-frequent traveler. Specifics can be found on the Southwest website.
A few highlights:
-If you fly 16 roundtrips in a 12-month period, they'll give you priority boarding access on your flights for the following 12 months. This level of flier typically got a free Companion Pass as well, so I'm not sure whether this is in addition to that, or a replacement for that.
-Two frequent flier awards (currently subject to certain seat restrictions) can be combined into one award with no seat restrictions.
-A new fare called "Business Select" that guarantees you a seat in the A boarding group, as well as one free alcoholic beverage on the flight. Each flight at this fare also earns either 1.25 or 2 Rapid Reward credits (depending on whether it's a flight of more than 750 miles or not) as opposed to the usual 1 credit. You can also change the flight with no additional fare necessary. (While regular flights had no change fee, they were subject to a higher fare if the fare you booked wasn't available on the new flight.)
This new fare isn't listed on the website yet for purchase, so my guess is that it'll roll out tomorrow with the new dates and boarding procedures.
Now, when will we be getting participation in Resort Airline Check-In?
