Hay Rides

My family and I will be at WDW from 2-9 to 2-14 and we are looking at going on the hayrides offered at the Fort Wilderness Campgounds. My guide says it is about an hours journey. Has anyone ever been on one of these hayrides? If so is it worth the money and what was it like? Thank you! :sohappy:

 I guess no one has ever been on a Disney Hayride.

I guess we'll go and I'll start a thread and tell everyone all about it when I return.

No you do not have to be a guest staying at Disney to go on the hayrides. They depart from Pioneer Hall and cost $6 for adults and $4 for children (3-9). There is plenty of things that you can do at WDW and not be guest. Your best information comes from Birnbaum's guide for WDW. (my opinion:cool: )

I've never been on a Disney Hayride.

I think I remember Hayrides at FW. I can't imagine where they go, unless they go thru the horse trails by the settlement trading post. If they go thru the horse trails it should be a nice time.

I also have never been on a "Disney" hayride, but have been on hayrides in Colorado, and at a Dude Ranch in Tuscon, AZ...
Both were different experiences, but basically it was a slow and leisurely ride, with a stop (for hot chocolate, in Colorado, and for lunch, at the dude ranch)

Naturally, you should expect to be brushing hay off of your clothes, unless the hay is covered, before you sit on it..

But since I do't know what the cost of the Disney hayride is, I don't want to really compare that with my own experience...one was included in my overall vacation cost and the other hayride was an "extra", and was about $17.00.

The thing is, it was fun, and something different to do...:)
