:eek:I just turned on CNN and i saw that Hawaii is under a tsunami warning!! This made me think of the new Disney Resort in Hawaii that is currently under construction, and what about Joe Rohde? He's the master planner of this great project. Hopefully no serious damage will happen not only to the future resort but to many islands of Hawaii. I wonder what Joe Rohde is doing right now as we speak??

btw. if this is in the wrong section please change

Unless something changes dramatically, this sure was much ado about nothing.
Tsunami are by nature unpredictable. "Much ado about nothing" after warnings is preferable to "Oh my God! How could the Government not warn people that this was coming? How many lives might have been spared?"

As a former Ground Search and Rescue Team Leader, having sat on high ground for many hours with SCUBA gear at my side waiting for a call that thankfully never came, I'm eternally grateful. But if you do even a little research, you can find out what the potential outcome of a failure to take precautions might be. I can tell you that taking the potential devastation of a tsunami lightly would be unconscionable negligence on the part of authorities.

I thoroughly agree.

Silly me - I worried about people's lives actually being in danger.....of course damage to a Disney project would be much more devastating!

I'm very thankful it turned out to be a mild event. For part of the year my Dad lives a few blocks from Waikiki beach and I was on the phone with him early this morning while he and my step mom were trying to decide if they should evacuate or stay put, and I could hear the warning sirens going off in the background...pretty scary stuff. These things are very unpredictable...it could have just as easily turned out bad. I was very relieved nothing happened.
