Have any of the Tomorrowlands ever been truly "Tomorrow"?

I've been thinking about the various complaints about Tomorrowland and the attractions they add to them, WDW and Anaheim mainly.

Paris doesn't have one, Tokyo is basically the same rides we had 30 years ago, and Hong Kong is pretty light with the exception of the new Iron Man ride. Shanghai is also pretty light on attractions.

Anaheim and WDW both had Tomorrowlands that were practically unfinished at park opening and took a few years to fully have enough of attractions to consider it a full land.

The Autopia/ Indy Motor speedway never felt futuristic in the parks either.

Those are just my thoughts when we consider the idea vs. reality of Tomorrowland.

Yes, there were definitely great parts to the various ones (monorail, peoplemover), but they seemed to always have something that didn't fit right.

I think the best example was Walt's original Tomorrowland vision...In a way it really reflected more of an EPCOT-ish vibe with the attractions they had....

That's the problem with Tomorrowlands and FutureWorld. You can think and dream ahead, but someday, those things will become a reality, and when they do, you have to reinvest into your concept and reinvent the wheel.

Sadly, for WDW, FW is a shell. TT 2.0 is fun. I like designing my car and hitting the sim track, lol. But there's so much more that could be done, leading us to "tomorrow".

You'd have to go back to one of the original iterations in Anaheim during Walt's era. Even Autopia was representing the future of the new highways that were going in all over the country... that wasn't entirely the present yet.

Which I'm sure they had a meeting about EPCOT on how could you welcome the 21st Century in a Park that surpassed it 16 years ago....
