Haunted Pirates Cruise for Halloween

Disney's Polynesian Resort is unveiling a new Haunted Pirates Cruise experience in time for Halloween. Children will travel aboard a "Haunted Pirate Ship" to each "Haunted Island" (marinas) and will hear of the spooky or haunted inhabitants. Halloween Ghost Stories for children will be told throughout the cruise, but if children are sensitive to spooky things or the dark this may not be for them.

The cruise is recommended for children age 5 to 12. Each child will receive a set of Pirate Mickey Ears, a pirate name tag, a pirate name, Halloween candy, a picture, a viewing of Happy HallowWishes, and possible prizes based on the games played on board the Haunted Pirate Ship.

A credit card is required to complete the reservation. Cruises will depart rain or shine unless lightning occurs. In cases of lightning a cruise will be cancelled.

A parent or guardian must sign a waiver for child's participation. For the safety and welfare of the children, the person signing the children in must also be the person signing them out at the end of the experience. Children must be potty trained. Life vests will be provided and required when onboard. Guests will meet at Mikala Canoe Club marina at Disney's Polynesian Resort.

The Haunted Pirates Cruise will be on Oct. 13, 16, 19, 21, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30, 31 from 8:15-10 p.m. Tickets are $31.95 per child and space is limited, so book your reservation today.

It seems to me that if they just upped the quality, and age demographic, they could do some AMAZING intimate "haunted" experiences. They charge like 100 bucks a person, and really be a unique experience.

I'm not really into that stuff, but I don't see why disney hasn't done anything like this before. they have so much land that they could use to their advantage. A swamp themed scary hike with an elaborate story could make some BIG bucks.

A swamp themed scary hike...

Well I, for one, would definitely be scared on this one - I've seen some of the WDW swamps in the daytime and their resident alligators. If it was nighttime, someone was telling scary stories and I heard sloshing and splashing - it would be OVER for me!

Well I'm glad that I'm not the only adult who thinks the haunted cruise sounds AWESOME and am alittle upset that it's only for kids!!!

Drats.... :(

Boutique Park?????

Wasn't there a Jim Hill rumor about them adding something new to Discovery Island for adults similar to this. Definitely this is a creative idea and a step in that direction. Imagine a year round nightime journey to a haunted island with pirates aimed at adults. The sky is the limit for WDW with these kind of experiences.:)

A boutique park WDW management has been wanting without having to use unnecessary land that could be used later for a 5th gate or a new TTC (the TTC part wishful thinking on my part)

But I like where JT and Jim Hill are going with this. Maybe this is a test to see how this boutique cruise will go???

I for one LOVE participating in the extra "perks" outside of the normal park experience!

What? You have to drop your kids off?

Seriously, Disney could really do a lot with this idea! Even if it is just kid stories and games, I would still pay to be able to experiance it with my daughter.

They not only have Discovery Island but they could also use the area where River Country used to be. Kinda like a combination of a heavily themed dinner club/show and participatory attractions (zip lines, treasure hunts with real prizes etc, and random characters who offer clues to the participants). Maybe this is where a new Adventurers Club type facility could fit in very well. Like I said there is no limit to what they could accomplish if they wanted to.
