I beat the game in 2 days. The grafics where impressive, I loved it. Ok here are the good sides and bad sides about it...

Good-
Great Gameplay
Great Controls
Grafics are awesome
Awesome Brain Twisting Puzzles
Awesome Voice Acting
Lots of Enemies
Explore the whole mansion!
Some parts are from the sets of the movie.
Soundtrack is really good.
Has most of the ghost from the ride.
Very Sadistic effects in the game....

Bad-
The Original Music from the ride isnt there!?!
The villian has nothing todo with the movie villian.
You free all the 999 ghosts? What about the Evers Family?
The bride is a one of the Enemies?
Some of the puzzles are too confusing.
In the streching room, u dont even get to see the ghost host hanging?!
The ending boss is way too difficult.
The Bride and the rest of the main story is way off.
Where is the real plot?

It's in there -- at least in the credits. The melodies are used in a few other areas as well.

Agreed -- the villain is stupid, as is the plot. But the game has nothing to do with the movie. It takes place way before.

What about the Evers Family?

Again, not based on the movie.

The ending boss is way too difficult.

Thus why he's the end boss :)

The Bride and the rest of the main story is way off.

Once again, I agree. This was the worst part of the game in my opinion. I didn't like any of it. They could have done so much better if it were structured more like 7th Guest, where it's more about solving the mystery rather than action.

i LOVE that version of the song! it's the best i've ever heard, next to the original!

anyway, i agree with you all. the main villian and the plot are just stupid.
and i was shocked that there was no bride. when i saw that the attic was one of the rooms, i expected to find her there, but, of course, she wasn't.
i'm glad they at least put the hitch-hiking ghosts and the singing busts in there though (which, btw, the singing busts was one of my favorite parts...it was easy, but cool!)

btw, what mode did you all beat it on? i beat it on easy mode, but then started a new game with nightmare mode. nightmare mode is TOUGH! it only took me a few tries on easy mode to beat the whole game, and it was easy to save up lives, but nightmare mode is hard, and you die much quicker. on easy mode, i had 13 or 14 lives saved up by the time i got to the last boss, so i beat him on my first try with several lives left over...but i doubt it'll work that way in nightmare mode.

what did you all think was the creepiest parts in the game? mine is the lady ghost that floats at the end of the downstairs hallway...i hate her! just thinking of her freaks me out! and the area where you fall into some sort of watery pit and you have to survive for 2 minutes...i didn't like that part at all. but the thing that REALLY creeped me out the most was the Children's Room. i spent forever in that room because i thought you had to kick all the blocks on the left side of the room into the closet. of course, some of them kept getting stuck in the corner of the walls and stuff, so it took me a good 6 or more tries before i finally got all the blocks into the closet, and then absolutely nothing happened. that's when i decided to go into the closet myself and close the door behind me and, of course, the wall flew back to make that long corridor. once leota popped up and told me something was wrong and to run as fast as i can, i knew it couldn't be good. of course, my first run through, i got stuck in a crevice and the ghost got me. for some reason, that whole thing scared me...maybe it was because i played that part at night while everyone else was asleep and my imagination gets the better of me when everything's dark. plus, i just wasn't expecting that to happen at all.

so anyway, regardless of its minor downfalls, i think it's a great game! very enjoyable for all ages, and very easy to play! the puzzles can be a little difficult at times, but i wouldn't want all of them to be easy. i give it 7 1/2 stars out of 10!
