Haunted Mansion.. one of my ideas.

I was think of removing that spider section in the haunted mansion. Yes, it has been there for a while, but its just to much open and odd space. During that part on the ride I just sit back and ignor it. Its nothing that impressive. Just some blacklight lit spiders. Anybody agree?

There used to be a body in the web but they took it out because they thought it would be to macarbre for guests.

You are supposed to be going up a staircase but it's hard to tell. If they added a little more lighting to the area it wouldn't be bad. Even if the railing on the stairway were a little more lit up it would be interesting.

Thats how i kind of feel... its like an odd change... u forget ur going upstairs... How about a illuison vortex?

Well, they were going to do a rehab (Ask Grizz) but theyre not anymore. It just needs some upkeep, IMO. (and SOMETHING in that web)

... And CMs outside the gate who are willing to stay in character. I'll never forget on some e-ride night when i was trying to get my arings and looking towards fantasyland, having some CM who should be stonefaced and quite yelling to me (and my then wallet-eating GF) that fantasyland was closed. Maybe the rope gave me that idea....

BBW, you're so right about the spiders. They look so cheesy. I think they should maybe put a neat special effect of somthing along the lines of floating objects that invisible ghosts are carrying or somthing. I'v heard that the stair case you go up is full of detail, but you really can't see it that well. I think they should light it up a bit with black light and a bit of fog to give a more spooky feel.

Yes.. But its part of the ride i enjoy. Although the effects are.. Slim to none. I enjoy its show.

yep, stupid blacklight spiders, defintely lame.....the only good thing is they're at the beginning of the ride so you forget about them pretty quickly. Wish they'd do something else with that area too.

lol.. very funny about me and the spider web... lol... But yea... How about a refernce to some parts in the movie. Not Eddie Murphy I mean.. How about giving it more of the theme of the bride? Guiding you? U know what i mean? The orb?

Not a bad idea. Anything like that would be cool. Since the doombuggies are directly behind each other at this point, maybe they could project an image on the back of the omnimover infront of you from a projector or laser beam. That would be really cool and it would be right infront of you! How about making it an image of the ghost host appearing in fog as he's talking to you? An effect like that wouldn't be hard to drum up. Just a matter of putting the projector above the doombuggies.

I tend to come up with some crazy ideas sometimes, but hey, I want to be an imagineer someday. The HM inspired me when I was only 10 years old. Now I do special effects for theatrical companies in the Detroit area.
