BALTIMORE, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- "The Haunted Mansion 3D Ghostvision Tour," an interactive, walk-through display promoting the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures film "The Haunted Mansion," has begun its nationwide tour. The display, created and produced by the Becker Group for Buena Vista Pictures Marketing, will stop at eight cities and will give guests the opportunity to put on 3D GhostVision glasses and enter a 1,000-square-foot replica of the Haunted Mansion. Once inside the mansion, they will encounter 3D special effects and actual costumes, props and set dressings from the upcoming film. Also on display is concept art and special makeup effects created by six-time Academy Award(R) winning makeup artist Rick Baker.

The Haunted Mansion comes alive like never before with incredible visual and special effects in this all-new, fun-filled comedy adventure. Shrouded in fog and mystery, the mansion was once a stately antebellum palace that hosted New Orleans' wealthiest. Now it's the creepy and crumbling home to a love-struck 19th century gentleman, 999 ghosts, and a hilarious and hair-raising battle for "home rule."

Realtor Jim Evers (Eddie Murphy) and his wife and business partner Sara get a call late one night from mansion owner Edward Gracey, who is looking to sell his property. Smelling the biggest deal of their career, Jim, Sara and their two children pay a visit to the mansion, located on a remote bayou.

A torrential thunderstorm of mysterious origin strands the Evers family in the old mansion with the brooding, eccentric Gracey, his mysterious butler Ramsley, and a variety of residents both seen and unseen. At first, Jim scoffs at Gracey's stories about ghosts and hauntings, until he unearths the mystery of the mansion and finds that his wife Sara has unexpected connections to its haunted past.

"The Haunted Mansion" is directed by Rob Minkoff ("The Lion King," "Stuart Little") and opens in theatres on November 26.

Commenting on the announcement, Brett Dicker, Executive Vice President, Buena Vista Pictures Marketing, said, "The display will provide consumers with a chance to take an entertaining `behind the screams' look at the making of the film. Guests will have access to some of the actual elements from the film set, which will help bring the Haunted Mansion to life."

Eddie Newquist, President of the Becker Group's Creative Division, added, "We are expecting this to be an entertaining and interactive showcase of the film. Our goal was to `infuse' life into the Haunted Mansion display, so that everyone could touch and feel the film and we've done that by including activities for both kids and adults. It's been a pleasure working with the team at Buena Vista Pictures Marketing on such a unique event."

The first stop for the mall tour was in Atlanta, Georgia at Cumberland Mall on October 24th through the 26th.
