I am taking a youth group down to WDW in August of this year, and have found Tropical Palms Fun Resort to be the best value dollar for dollar.

Has anyone ever stayed there, or driven past. I have read good reviews on this property, but I would welcome any additional information.

I would have loved to stay at a Disney hotel, but I am getting a cottage equivalent to at Wilderness Home for $79/night. The same price as a small room at the All Star.

Any information that anyone has will be welcomed!

Tropical Palms is a very nice campground I only stay there when Fort Wilderness has its peak season rates. Since your going in August why not stay onsite at FW instead?

Tropical Palms area

Capt. Chris, Tropical Palms is directly behind the Old town Shopping area on west 192. There is a Days Inn , Quality Inn,Travel Lodge, and many more in that area. Plenty of places to eat also. This area is loaded with motels also $29 and up. For your transportation needs contact yourride.net we will be more than happy to help you and your group with all your needs while staying on your holliday trip. Towncar

The reason that I am not staying at FW is that tropical Palms is still about $100 cheaper per unit and I am getting two units. Also, I can fit 8 people into a cottage at Tropical Palms, but the FW homes only sleep 6.

I would love to stay at FW, but I just cannot justify it based on savings off property.

Thank you for your description of the area. The last time I went down, I was on the other side of 192, toward Splendid China, and was not familiar with the area.

I appreciate the offer for transportation, but I will be driving my own 15 passenger van from Maine, and will utilize that for getting around the Kingdom.

With such a large group, logistically, a trip like this is a nightmare. I would love to fly, but $200 times 15, plus ground transportation. It can get pretty expensive.

Thanks again for all of the information.
