I wanted to see if anyone has stayed at Star Island Resort in Kissimmee. It looks like it has a lot of amnenities and diffrent type of social functions. Since we are driving all night - I wanted to spend the first half day at the hotel and try some of the social functions. I read that they had Karaoke and Ice Cream socials. We will be going in December so the pool is out unless they have an indoor pool. It looks like a really nice place off-site.

I don't believe in the term "really nice place off-site". There is no experience like a WDW Resort experience, however, this place looks as though they really, really want you to enjoy your stay, and by 'stay' I mean "stay here and pay to use all of our amenities" You should really check out the website if you haven't already (www.star-island.com/). Did you know this resort charges you extra for Housekeeping?
I hear you crazygirley - If it was my option, we would be staying at the Coronado Springs Resort or the Caribbean Resort on site. But this is my dad's nickel - So I gotta go with the flow.

I understand. I looked on the site, it looked really nice! It's just that EVERYPLACE in Orlando tries their hardest to get you to drop the cash. I was shocked about the housekeeping...if you guys stay there and pay for them to clean your room, let us all know how good they did it (I bet they don't make duck shapped towels) since you had to pay extra for it!!! I am sure you will have a great time!
