Has anyone recently stayed at All Star Sports?

Hi everyone. We are booked for a week long trip this September. We were originally booked at Pop (our favorite!) but this morning, our TA had to switch us to All Star Sports so we could get free dining. We have stayed there before but it was awhile ago (2007 & 2008). I am well aware of room sizes, layout etc, I just have 2 specific questions I'm hoping someone can answer.
First, I know the buses stop at Sports first, then the other 2 All Stars. Does this affect travel time too much going to the parks in the morning? I honestly can't remember. Normally, if a park opens at 9, we are down at the bus stop at 8. Is that still good?
Also, one of the things my daughter loves about Pop is the little kiddie pool with the sprayers. Looking at pictures online, it looks like there is a small kiddie pool near the Surfs Up Pool, but are there any sprayers in that area?
Thanks!

Oh, 2 other questions I just thought of :)

Is there a curtain to pull across the sink area like in Pop? And can you use your magic band and/or credit card when using the washer and dryer or should we bring quarters?
thanks again!

Only question out of those I can answer is, I've done laundry at a hand full of resorts and they all required credit card to use washer & dryer

The All Star resorts sharing buses is a possibility, but not always a guarantee. We've stayed at all the All Stars over the past few years and the only time we encountered shared buses was to Downtown Disney. It probably just depends on time of day/year/crowd control necessities. It's impossible to predict for us, so we just always planned to have about an hour for travel time. I wouldn't worry. :)

Not sure about the pool question, but yes, there is a curtain that you can pull to separate the bathroom from the living area.

Stayed at Sports last September. Never shared a bus with any other All Star. Being at the bus stop at 8 am for 9 am park opening is fine :).

Thats good to know! When in Sept did you go? We are going the 23rd-Oct 1st. Were there any big crowds of athletes staying there?

We were there September 23-28. There were no sports groups there. In fact, the resort was very quiet and as long as you get breakfast in the 7 am hour the food court wasn't busy. I did a TR if you are interested:

Oooh I love trip reports, thanks! I will definitely take a look at that :)

We will probably do breakfast in the room, a combo of stuff from home (cereal, granola bars) or using a previous days snack credit to grab a muffin or something. And then use our QS credits for lunch and dinner. With 2 little ones, its a pain going back and forth in the morning. On our last trip, I usually ran down in the morning just to fill up our coffee mugs. Do you have a favorite section of the resort? Maybe that's in your TR, I haven't looked yet :)

I stay at All-Star Sports every year in the Sept-Oct time frame for Food and Wine. I love the resort. Bussing is never an issue, the only time you may share a bus is in the afternoon or when going to Disney Springs. I usually pay extra and get a room in Surf's Up but I have stayed in the furthest room, building #4 Tennis, and it wasn't a bad walk, and I had kids with me on that trip. I've stayed at every All-Star, POP, and all of the moderates and I still choose to only stay at All-Star Sports. It is my home away from home.

There is a curtain that divides the sleeping and sink area. Here is a picture of my room (it was taken March 2016).

I love hearing this. We are so in love with Pop that it was a bit of a bummer to have to switch. My daughter was obsessed with the Hippy Dippy Pool and the little spray area. The staff there was so friendly and accommodating, it just felt like home. Everyone's positive comments about Sports are making me feel a lot better!

Thanks for the picture! We loved that feature in Pop, it was so useful if some one had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, or even if my daughter was asleep at 8pm and we still had to wash up, brush our teeth etc. Nice to still be able to keep the room dark! I found some older pictures of All Star Sports online that did not have that curtain so I'm glad they have since added it :)

I went in January and never shared a bus with another resort and they were never crowded. I was in the Surfs Up section close to the main building. A bunch of Cheer squads were there my first day on Sunday but the rest of the week was peaceful.

It's less likely you'll share a bus going to a park, especially in the morning. More likely, you'll share a bus upon return in the evening. Which makes sense. Everyone wants to get back. Get as many "All Star" guests on a bus as possible, and make three stops, letting those off for each resort.
