Has anyone purchased Disney Extras?

This will be our first trip to Disney. I was wondering if anyone has purchased the extras (in room packages) offered on the disney site. Like gifts from Mickey etc. and what your thoughts are on it.
Thanks

Yeah, I just can't see paying those prices for that stuff. You'll be bombarded with gift shops when you get to the parks. Lots of chances to spend money after you get there. :)

Only reason I say that is because you can the same type of stuff in the parks, for less money. It's like ordering room service - Same food, just about 20% higher.

I actually found a Sleeping Beauty costume (for my DD) on WALMART.com and had it shipped to the hotel. After we checked in, it was delieverd to our room. I told her it was from her friends at Disney, she was thrilled. Same reaction I wanted for 1/2 the price. :)

When ever she wears the costume, she says her friends at Disney gave it to her. :)

As far as merchandise goes I can't comment on that, I just buy things at the parks. But for our anniversary I bought the package where they come into your room and leave personalised items and rose petals. The better half loved it and was totally surprised. It was sort of pricey but the look on her face was worth it.

A question for you, what types of personalized items did you get? We'll be down there in august celebrating a big anniversary (without kids) and I'm trying to figure out what to do special for my DH. Already made my ressies at Victorias and Alberts.

We are going to Victoria and Alberts for our third anniversary on Feb. 28th and I'm surprising my wife there. V&A are recreating the top level of our wedding cake. I had to send them a picture of the cake and tell them what kind of cake it was and the filling. My wife loved our cake and I think this quite original.

Wow, what a thoughtful guy your are. This is so romantic you should score big on this one.:king: If I were wanting to do something special I would take the advice of a PP and ship whatever you'd like to give her directly to yourself at the resort and give it to her that way. I would not want my DH giving me just anything because of the convience. If she loves a certain flower or special perfume or whatever it is you know she'd flip for, order it online or go buy it and ship it yourself to get what you really want to give her, not some overpriced Disney add on. That's just my opinion. I must say, you guys sound like real keepers:o (<-that's me blushing).
