My dad (77.5yrs old) had it Monday both sides of his spine L3-L4 and L4-L5.
He's been home for 24 hours and it has been hell on earth at our house.
None of us slept.
He's now 48+ hours post op and can BARELY walk or do the two stairs (let alone going up to his bedroom).
I feel like this was made out to be a walk in the park but now that we're concerned that he's having this terrible of an experience they are now saying meh yeah its gonna be rough. No suggestions of how to help him get through this.
Heck they didn't even suggest icing it but after we called they were like oh you could if you want.
He has a walker, toilet seat, and lift chair only because we already had those things from my mom's previous surgeries.
They gave him a back brace but the guy that fitted it had it super high when his surgery site is LOW back.
Its just all kinds of crazy.
Just looking for other's expereinces and maybe if you have any suggestions for a better recovery experience.
