Hi, I had a hypothetical situation in regards to the DDP. Has anyone been able to at a TS dinner been able to use only their dining credits with people who are not on their dining plan but have DDP of their own? As an example three people are dining together all have dining but 2ppl are on one plan and the 2 ppl want to use up their credits first, or to pay the other one back etc... has anyone done this? I would think as long as everyone was on a plan, credits are credits...

TIA

That sort of defeats the purpose of one group using up there dining credits so the other one can save em etc.... I figured there would have been people on here who have traveled in big families/groups and had stayed in different resorts and maybe want to use up credits on one room first.

I don't think that's how it works, but I'm sure someone at Disney could help you.

Found this on the Disney website:

You may not redeem meals or snacks for any Guests who are not on your Disney Dining Plan.

So I would assume that unless you're all on the same plan, then you could not do it.

Deak: Since it sounds like each person has the DDP, and since you have to (or should) follow the rule Nemo posted above, your best bet is probably to just have it rung up as separate tickets. Those of you on the same plan on one ticket, those of you on a different plan another.

It won't work. They will only allow you to use as many credits are people are listed in your room. So if you are a family of 2, then you can only use 2 credits at a time, they won't let you use 3.

this does raise an interesting question though. i'll be going with family this september. we'll have my 2 grandnieces with us. both are under the age of 3. so they are considered free. we have the deluxe dining plan and would have enough credits to use for them as well. we were told that they would share off an adult's plate. well, for one of the girls that's not a problem. the other, though, she eats a lot. now, we are all staying in the same room and would have enough credits that we could use on them. is that ok, so that they can have their own meals or do we not get to use those credits for them? seems like it's paid for, plus they consider them free because of their ages... sorry if this is confusing.

Obi,
I would say unless the little one can eat two or three meals a day i wouldn't get her a dining plan. Just pay cash for the kids meal. I realize you have enough credits to cover her, but then it brings up another point what If I am a glutton and I wanted two meals for myself, how could they tell me no? They let adults share a meal.. why can't I be a pig and eat twice? also just like cell phone plans that want to charge you extra to tether...data is data, dining credits are credits, I should be able to use them however I want to... nobody is trying to rip them off just wanting to use the credits they paid for..
