Has Anyone Ever Had a Problem Adding Another Person to the Reservation?

I have a cruise booked in the far future. I'm thinking I will probably add another member to my family before then (and will be 6 months before we go). When I booked the cruise I asked about this, and they said as long as there is availability. Has anyone tried to add someone to their reservation and not been able to?

I should leave this to the TA's to confirm, but I believe when you add another person to your booking, you are basically cancelling your existing reservation and re-booking (meaning your rates will go up most likely). It's a much easier process to have them on your booking and remove them.

Another alternative, is to have them book their own room, and you can link reservations so you can see each others itineraries and book excursions together, etc.

This would be adding an infant on. Since the infant doesn't exist yet, I can't really make a reservation for him/her.

You're not cancelling the reservation and rebooking. So the rate for the people already on the reservation will not change. The person being added will obviously have to pay the current fare (not the fare that you paid when you first booked).

But if the ship is already carrying its maximum number of passengers, then you will not be allowed to add someone to your reservation, even if there is technically room in your stateroom. (I think part of the rationale for this is lifeboat capacity.)

I had my cruise booked with my two unborn girls. They had them on the reservations but obviously no names or SSNs. I could not however access my cruise info. Two days after they were born, I gave DCL their names and all of the relevant website info came up for them. Just make sure they will be 6 months old or Disney will not allow them to sail.

Thanks for clarifying. I (thankfully) ended up not having to do this, but what my TA said at the time was vague.
