Has anyone done the Parasailing at Disney World?

I was thinking about doing this one morning with my dad.. he's getting older and its always something he wanted to do. I never parasailed before and I read up a bit on the Disney World parasailing thing at the Contemporary but theres not a lot of details around.

Can anyone explain how the morning goes? Like it says your up there for about 10 minutes.. but does the boat have a lot of people on it so your forced to wait a long time for your 10 minutes? I was curious how long the whole thing takes etc so I can sort of plan the rest of my day.

Thanks for any info.

We did it and loved it so much we did it a second time while we were there. We'll definitely make it one of our 'treats' every time we go. It is SO much fun.
When you go, you are on the boat for 1/2 hour. They book several flights for that half hour, and everyone who is scheduled for that time slot is on the boat with you. One time when we went, we were the only ones on the boat. The other time there was one other couple with us. There is plenty of room on the boat to kick back and enjoy the breeze while the others are going. The people who run it are EXTREMELY efficient in getting everybody on and off the parasail. So you don't feel like you're waiting around. Plus the small 'adrenaline' rush you get from doing it is enough to keep you happy through whatever waiting you'll be doing.
You basically do a figure 8 pattern over Bay Lake, and the views are spectacular, of MK, the other parks in the distance, the hotels and campground, and green as far as the eye can see...and it can see a long way up there.

My daughter and I are scheduled to parasail in a few weeks there. I'm not a big fan of water. How wet do you get?

You don't get wet at all. You take off and land at the back of the boat.

We had so much fun when we did it a few years ago. It was just us and a family on the boat. I don't know if they let us stay up longer than 10 minutes, but it seemed like a lot more than that. The view was amazing.

We just went on Dec 5th and it was 160$ for tadem. We also were the the only ones on the boat and loved it. We saw Earful Tower, SE, MK, and Everest. Never did find TT. The guy who ran it said most never find Everest. I have done parasailing in Wis. Dells. it doesn't even compare. Plus Disney didn't drop quite a ways like the dells with the wind change. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!!!!!!! I only wish they would have had more teashirts to choose from for my son.

The t-shirts are cool. They have a Sammy Duvall logo on the front and a stylized drawing on the back with a quote about seeing the world from 600'. They are complimentary with the flight only when you don't land on the boat...

The motor reeling in my middle son and I died about halfway through bringing us in. We landed in Bay Lake, and for our trouble, we were given free t-shirts. It was a very gentle landing, and our heads never went under. The video camera which I had brought on the flight was fine; I held it over my head as we splashed down, and it never got wet.

How much time do you think I should set aside for the parasailing? If we show up at like 9:00 for a 9:30 parasailing reservation.. should I plan on being there until 10:30 or 11:00?
