Ok I need help on a school project. Has any one here seen Beauty and the Beast on Broadway? Same with the Lion King. I saw B&B a few ago but have trouble remembering some of it. So if any one could help that would be great. Thanks all...

I saw the West End versions.

I have to admit I was disappointed with Beauty and the Beast. I love the additional songs, but the whole was too long, badly paced and felt like it was written by someone who had heard about the tradition of British Pantomimes at Christmas, but had never seen one.

As far as the dancing goes I think it was fairly standard musical theatre stuff, with high-kicks etc during “Be our Guest”. The one number that did stand out dance wise was “Gaston” with all the revellers tapping tankards with each other in interesting combinations.

Lion King was superb from start to finish. Could not fault it.

You may find some useful references to the Lion king choreography in the downloadable clips at Lion King.net

Couldn't agree more...

I liked Beauty and the Beast, but it wasn't that great.

Lion King however was awesome. It's in my top five musicals along with Wicked, Ragtime, Man of La Mancha...

Imagineer99, how is Wicked? The story intrigues me but I'm curious to know how the show as a whole is.

Mama Mia and Little Shop... are my two favs.

Aida follows a close third.

Cool cool... I might try and ride up to NY one weekend to see it when I get a chance.

What are the dates for The Producers... I would love to catch that.

It's playing the end of June to the end of August (all summer). You can check dates at the Kennedy Center's website.
