The Boy Who Lived is just trying to get in good with the mouse so he can sneak a glance at the Avatar plans...one step ahead of your enemy and all that.

Why are the Pirates of the Caribbean films shown on NBCUniversal's USA Network? Many shows on networks are made by a studio other than the one who owns it.

I heard that Disney is buying Universal and is building a new monorial line that will take you directly from Disney Springs and connect to the Hogwarts Express track. So it's all good that Disney XD is showing Harry Potter. ;)

What's up with this? Why is Disney in bed with the "enemy"? Theme park enemies anyways... Thoughts?

Universal owns the theme parks rights to Harry Potter, Disney owns the broadcast rights to the movies which get shown quite often on ABC Family, and a lot of people watch that channel on Comcast which owns Universal which owns the theme parks rights.....

You will find that the entertainment industry is a huge tangled web of licensing deals.

Indeed. It should also be noted that lots of shows on the big broadcast networks are produced by competitive studios. "House" was a Universal Production but aired on FOX, not NBC. Modern Family is considered an "ABC" show by many but it's actually a 20th Century Fox production. It's just the nature of the business. The only time these deals become an issue is when a show is close to syndication and the host broadcast network wants to cancel it due to ratings. If the show were in-house, it would be in the networks interest to renew it. That's why sometimes you see shows jump-ship to another network since the production company is interested in syndication.
