I’ve done Gringotts 30+ times with my family. It’s our fav Harry Potter ride after Hagrid’s.

Convinced my son to try The Mummy with me once. I thought it was cool and surprising, and he thought it was a one and done. (Obviously not a majority opinion.)

So, Gringotts wins for us.

Gringotts is a very good themed experience. As a ride though, it does not deliver on the concept it promises. You assume a wild card ride and instead mostly sit and watch action play out. Even more weird is that the ride system and ride vehicles are designed to perfectly emulate what you see in the films. For that reason, it's not super re-rideable. I will also say it goes a little too hard trying to place you in one very specific moment from the books/films.

Mummy is a much more fun and re-rideable ride, but from the standpoint of complete immersive theming, it's actually a bit of a mixed bag. The story is ridiculous, the showpieces in the coaster part are just UV paintings in a warehouse. BUT - the coaster part is great, the dark ride portion is great, and the pyro effects are also great. Honestly though the weirdness and slight cheesiness of it just adds to the experience. It's honestly the perfect old school theme park attraction that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Mummy is a win all around for me. The queue, the ride, the show elements, the coaster layout, whatever category, Mummy just wins. Definitely in my top-5 for all of Central Fla. The only negative I can think of is what it replaced, Kongfrontation which was another favorite. I wish we lived in a perfect world where we kept that version of Kong and got to have the Mummy ride as well. Sadly, the fates decided we couldn't have both those great attractions coexist together.

I enjoy them both, and appreciate the more advanced effects of Escape From Gringotts, but the pacing of the Mummy is way better, with the attraction adding layers of thrill and building to a climax. Escape From Gringotts is more lop-sided, with the more thrilling parts (and the only real drop of the coaster) coming at the beginning, and the ride getting less exciting from there.

I still have both on my not-to-be-missed list!
