Harmony Barber Shop?

I've never been to the barber shop and have a few questions. I was always planning on taking my daughter there for her first haircut. She is 4 years old and has not yet had a haircut yet. I just read online that only babies under 1 get the first haircut package with the ears? My son is 2 and hasn't had a haircut yet either. So are they both not eligible for that?

Also, do they do a good job? I also just read that there's no bowls for hair washing, it's all done dry. Is it worth going there? We're local, so there's no time crunch.

Please share any experiences! Thanks!

I don't think the under 1 thing is true. My 2nd daughter had her first haircut there and was nearly 2 and got the whole package (ears, certificate, etc). I don't think you have to prove any sort of age at all.
They do not have bowls for washing, so it's "dry" (squirt bottles). They did quite a good job IMO. It was well worth the experience for us, and I wish we would have known about the 1st haircut package for my oldest daughter's first cut.
It was a great experience for me and a great memory as well. I don't know if it was any more/less special for her than any standard first haircut, but for my wife and me it was well worth it.

My daughter was 3 and got the entire package. Granted, that was 10 years ago, but I have not heard of any changes to the policy.

They do not wash hair there but the will wet it if needed with a spray bottle.

The picture below are of a shadowbox I put together of the experience and might help to give you an idea of what to expect.

No, children don't have to be under 1 year old. We just went with some friends when they took their almost 3 year old daughter for her first haircut back in May. They got the full package - certificate & ears.

I've been twice with family friends & thought that the stylists / barbers do a fantastic job. They are all very patient with the kids & seem to have the knack of keeping the kids calm & happy during the experience. The first time we went, the only time my friend's son got a little whiny was when they used the clippers to trim the back. Other than that he was a happy camper & the cut looked really nice.

I went and got a hair cut with my son and was pretty disappointed overall. The hair cut was bad but I could live with that. It was the lack of energy in the shop. I was expecting a more upbeat vibe with some enthusiasm. It was a bit of a let down for me personally, but having your kids first haircut in Disney World is pretty unique..not on here of course...and I would think about it when my daughter goes next year. I even got hair dye and sparkles put in but it still didn't liven the mood. Maybe an off day though as many people on here seem to love it.
