Hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day. I had the previlege of seeing the fireworks at the one place left in a America where you can hear "The 1812 Overture" as it was written -- with carillon bells, real cannons, fireworks, and symphony all together. They always use it here in Richmond, Va., to start the fireworks show, at Dogwood Dell (next to a WWI Carillon, with the symphony and canons from the Virginia National Guard). Cool stuff, with kids waving flags, eating ice cream, and all the rest.

I love Disney's show, but I enjoy ours, too. (And it did not cost $90 to get in!)

By the way, I remember Steve decking out these forums in the American flag on either Memorial Day or Independence Day the first year after September 11, 2001. Almost certain it was July 4.

Do you remember that, Steve? Was it July 4? Either way, it was nice.

Yep I did used to do that, but unfortunately it frequently got complaints from people, so I stopped doing it. Maybe I should revisit that.

Wow, especially after 9/11... but some people will complain about anything! I thought it was nice, especially back then. I do often wonder if the rest of the world even notices that holiday, or since business is maybe affected, maybe they notice. The U.K. might not really like it so much, but I see our nations as feeling like kin anyway.

London will be getting some love soon, anyway, for the Olympics. Are you affected by that, Steve? Any Olympic venues near you? Traffic issues? Do you get business from it?
