Today is the 36th Anniversary of the dedication of the Polynesian Resort!

Did you know?

• The first fireworks display at WDW took place at the official dedication of the Polynesian
• The kakui nut tree in the gardens is the only one of its kind in the state of Florida, having been imported from Hawaii
• The Great Ceremonial house resembles a royal Tahitian assembly lodge
• The motto of the Polynesian is "Aita Peatea" which means "There will be another day tomorrow just like today"
