Handicap Parking at the Parks

We are renting a car this time, my parents are going with us. My mom is handicapped. How far from the entrance or TTC are the handicap parking lots at all the parks? We have never rented a car before so I have no frame of reference on this.

Thanks
Dan

It varies from park to park. It is a long way to the TTC at MK but there are wheelchairs available at the handicapped lot. At EPCOT the handicapped parking is quite close - the front rows by the turnstiles. At AK, likewise. At DHS it is the front rows where the tram drops off.

Also, if I remember this correctly, there are lines from the ticket booths you follow to the handicapp space (probably the blue one, but dont quote me on that). As stated earlier, you will still have to transfer from the lot to ferry/monorail at MK and it can still be a walk. The other lots you should not have a problem.

They have courtesy wheel chairs at the handicap parking area to transport. guests to the rental location. They do have a blue line on the pavement to follow to the handicap parking lot. Just an FYI the handicap lot at DHS is very small and usually is full later on in the day.

Be sureto bring your handicapped parking plauqard to hang from your mirror.

As everyone has said, follow the blue lines to the handicap or "medical" parking areas as they are called by some cast members. During our visit a few weeks ago there were rarely any courtesy wheel chairs in the parking areas to transport our son to the park entrance. Once inside the park you can rent a wheel chair if necessary. I think get a break if you purchase multiple days at a time.

Additionally, if you visit, or are staying at a resort that offers valet parking, the normal 12.00 a day fee is waived for guests with disabilities. Please be sure to tip the valet when he brings up your car.

All parks have close parking for handicapped except MK. If you are not bringing your own wheelchair or do not need one of the courtesy wheelchairs (if they are there), then i recommend using the regular parking in MK and take the tram, it will get you closer. Make sure you park on the end of the parking so you do not have a walk to the tram. Just park on the first spot or two and tell the parking staff you have a disabled unable to walk far. We did that until we needed the wheelchair the whole time.
