I don't have an Xbox, nor have I played any of these games.
So I was wondering, what is the big deal about the Halo games?
What makes it different from other 1st person shooter games of this style?

I played it quite a bit yesterday as I had one class at 9 and then was off until 6:30. I'm very pleased with how the game turned out so far. If you guys are ever looking for someone to play on Live feel free to add me, gamertag is meanstreakhater.

The speed and playability. The Melee attacks are much better than in any other game of it's type. The amount of available vehicles and weapons, along with the creative ways to get kills. Plasma grenades are a lot of fun too. The multiple game types, ect ect.
Basically, it rolls up every great aspect of any multiplayer First Person Shooter into 1 neat package.
I am so kicking myself for not having my gaming rig built yet. There are so many very cool games coming out right now and in the very near future and all I can do is look at the pretty boxes on the shelf. If I do not get it built by the release of UT3 I just might have to frag myself.

360 exclusive right now, but if it's like Halo 2, the PC version is 2-ish years away... It's sad. I'm not even a huge gamer... but i'm ITCHING to get home and play!!!
I am itching to get back into gaming. I have never been much into on-line gaming, frankly the addictive quality of it scares the crap out of me, but give me a good FPS, combat flight sim or RTS and I am in heaven. I have been trying to get a system built for nearly a year now but is seems like every time I get ready to order the parts either the money I had set aside gets used on something else or I am just a couple of weeks away from a new part coming out or a big price drop on components.

Im buying myself a 360 real soon just for this game. I was addicted to Halo 2 and its the multiplayer that will keep me hooked

So far the game has lived up to the hype IMHO. And for all the people who said it was just halo 2.5 because of what they saw in the beta, Not a chance. I have never been a huge halo fan but the game deserves its props, bungie did a good job.

I have it and love the game. So far I have 3 skulls (Iron Skull, Black Eye Skull and the Grunt Birthday Skull). I know where the Cowbell Skull is but I can't reach it even with the portable grav lift.

I wouldnt go that far as mass effect doesnt come out untill Nov. 20th.I really enjoy playing Halo 3. Halo 3 is most defenitely Game of the Year.
It should get a nomination though.
