Well, that was rather fast ....

Magic today already sporting Christmas decorations. Don't get me wrong ... I love them all around Disney property :) Definitely my favourite time of the year at Disney and pretty much over all during the year.

WDW is a perfect reflection of the retail world when it comes to holiday decorations. We're two days removed from Halloween, and I would bet that all malls and major retail outlets in North America will be fully decorated for Christmas and have all Christmas related items for sale by this Saturday at the latest.
Yup, noticed that today. The Santa Claus areas are already in place and about half of the mall decorations are in place. If they would just clean the bathrooms that fast.

I wonder if they're going to put out those giant "hangers" again (replaced the garland over Main St. to allow for the Festival of Fantasy parade). I think that they could just do away with it (the hangers) and they'd be fine. They look really weird in pictures but aren't as obnoxious in person.

Seems like stores start earlier every year. Besides the decorations in stores, I already started seeing Christmas commercials on TV. I've been in Disney when theyve made the change over and its amazing that the crews can get everything switched over so quickly. NIce benefit though to those guests vacationing in early Nov.

Main Street seems fully decked out already. I'm hoping to get a Photo Pass photo of DH,DGS, and I in front of the MS Christmas tree tonight for our Christmas cards. We had lunch today right next to the Christmas tree in the BOG ballroom. I was surprised by that. Do they decorate all the restaurants for the holidays?

Pretty much all the holiday decorations are up at Magic now. We're sitting at the Hollywood Brown Derby lounge right now ... No holiday decorations are up here at the Studios I can see from here.
When I was at WDW this past weekend, I could see the pieces of the big tree they set up in front of DHS staged in one of the back parking lots. (Forget the name of the road, but it was the one that's across the street from the gas station next to the Boardwalk.) I'd wager that tree will be up very, very soon.

One of the local chain stores started running Christmas commercials the 2nd of October. It was... jarring.

We were just on the Halloween on the High Seas cruise and when we arrived at Castaway Cay on November 4 the Christmas tree was up. I joked with my family that we can never see this island without Christmas decorations.

It has been on my Disney bucket list to try to go on a trip that lasts long enough to catch the last Halloween party and the first Christmas party. I know that used to be feasible, but I think now it may be so spread out that you would have to go on a 2 week trip.
