Halloween @ WDW

We're in the preliminary stages of planning our next trip to WDW in October. Does Disney do anything special for the week of Halloween? I was told that kids normally dress up and are allowed to "trick or treat" in the park. Any info would be appreciated.

Here in the Magic Kingdom we host Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party which is basicly a halloween party where the whole park gets in the Not So Scary mood even the Characters get into the spirit......it is a separate ticket than your main ticket and is not included in the price .....plus it is only offered on certain nights and lasts from around 7ish to midnight ....... its a great party .... def on of my favorites ...most ppl dress up in costumes (non-scary) i.e. there favorite characters ect.....i def recomend it totally worth the money and its a lot of fun

I attended Mickey´s not so scary Halloween Party in 99 and had a blast! My bf then took me there by surprise and we trick or treated a lot!! Got two big bags of Nestle chocolates! We also got a free picture from that night. There were also fortune tellers at some location in the park and a special parade repeated twice during the night. It was fun! :)

What dates does the Not-So-Scary-Halloween usually run? We will be there Oct 6-12, probably WAY too early for that but it sounds like fun. Is it Halloween week only?

Last years dates were the 18th, 21st, 26th, 28th and the 31st. I was told they historically do this the 2 Fridays and Sunday's prior to Halloween, plus the 31st. They shut MK down at 5 then re-open from 7 to midnight. Unlike e-night everyone has to leave the park at 5. I'm pumped.
