Halloween Party?

We are planning on going the 29th of Oct. Which is getting pretty close to Halloween. We haven't been to the party in about 10 years. The last time we went it wasn't that crowed and the lines weren't long at all. Has anything changed in the last 10 years? Will it be crowded being so close to Halloween?

It will most likely be a sold out party night. But I went last year on Halloween itself and although sold out its not like when the park is slap full on a regular day. Yes lines can be a bit long for candy and meet and greets but ride lines are not bad, and finding a good spot for the parade and fireworks is not hard. Lines for food like at Sleepy Hollow was not bad either. Some will tell you it's crazy but we did not find it crazy at all even on 10/31 last year. Also if you did not buy your tickets yet I would advise buying ASAP because dates closest to Halloween will sell out ahead of time. :)

We went last year on 10/31 as well, it was sold out and I did not feel like it was crowded at all. Actually to give an example, during the day the wait time for Anna and Elsa averaged 90-120 minutes, but during the party we waited under 20 minutes to meet them and there literally was not a single person in line to meet Cinderella and Rapunzel.
If you don't care to watch the parade, that's the best time to hit the rides. Most people line up early for the parade and it makes most rides walk-ons!

We went 2 years ago on a sold out night and it was not bad at all. Had a great view of the parade and rides were no problem. Cast members were a little stingy with giving adults candy which is sad because the adults tickets cost more. :( We plan on going on a Tuesday this year.

It will be crowded (we're doing the 31st), but nothing like the crowds during the day. I've gone several times and Tuesday won't be as crowded as days later in the week - I went on the Tuesday before Halloween and it wasn't bad at all.

Awesome to hear. We are going on Tuesday the 13th with people who have never been to a Disney after hours event so it is nice to hear the crowd levels might be a little lighter.

It will be lighter than the normal crowds because a sold out ticket event is not sold out park crowds. They limit how many tickets are sold for all of the ticketed events to keep the crowds to a reasonable level. That is a definate advantage to attending MNSSHP and MVMCP. :)

We have been to several parties but they have always been sold out. I'm hoping that being a Tuesday early in October there might be a little less traffic.

Might have less but you just never know. We have usually only been to sold out event nights at MNSSHP and MVMCP. Last year we were able to attend both in one trip the last MNSSHP and the first MVMCP and both sold out and were not bad crowd wise at all at each. Year prior we went to a sold out MVMCP and same it was not bad at all, and the year Before that I don't remember if it was sold out or not. lol
If you are used to those crowds you should be good in early Oct on a weeknight. We are going on a Tues 10/20 this year so wondering if that one will be sold out or not also. :)

A candy Tip....wait until the party is almost over and the candy flows like a river. Seriously, skip it early on and go to the stations close to 11 PM. We got a ton of candy a couple of years ago doing just that! And we did not have a kid with us, just two, non dressed up adults!
