Halloween at WDW before or after?

My family is planning a trip to WDW next year around Halloween. The question is should we spend the majority of the vacation before the holiday or after? I have heard that since the Buick Golf Tournament is before Halloween that they and their famalies tend to get preferrential treatment. I have heard this from a couple of people who had been there at that time. Has anyone else heard of this?

A drawback to going after is election day. We were there two years ago and the parks were mobbed with locals on election day. The rest of the week was fine.

I would say after the holiday. You will still have the Food and Wine festival going on in Epcot.
