Pre-Trip Halloween at the World Across the World

I love to write, and I'm running out of things to micromanage for my October trip, so I thought I'd have a go at a Pre-Trip Report!

A little background. I spent a semester in Paris last year, and for the first time in my life I lived within a commutable distance of a Disney park. So of course I bought myself an annual passport (in Paris these pay for themselves in 2-3 single day trips), got myself a 2-week seasonal stint in food and beverage for Halloween, and overindulged in my two favorite things - Disney and France. I miss it terribly, but now I'm sitting here in the U.S. living vicariously through Twitter soaking in all of the long overdo maintenance and updates DLP is finally getting!

The whole time, my wonderful mother was living vicariously through me, and since we hadn't been to the World in a few years, we decided a Halloween-ish trip was in order!

When we first booked we were undecided about where we wanted to stay, so we picked the All-Star Music so we would at least have somewhere to sleep. We're normally a value family (although not exclusively), but since it's just the two of us, and we'll only be staying for 4 nights, we decided to splurge and upgrade to a moderate when something at POFQ opened up. I kept making tweaks along the way to save money, so now we're doing a split stay at Coronado Springs and Port Orleans French Quarter! This is the fifth incarnation of our resort reservation, but now since we're getting closer and the fall room discounts came out, we think this plan will stick! I'm pumped because it will be my first time for both resorts!

(on a side note - I know CS is sprawling, so I would welcome any suggested room requests!)

I had a little too much fun with my ADRs...I think we have 8ish for our 5-day trip, including Be Our Guest, Teppan Edo, and Biergarten! I guarantee we won't be using all of them, especially since we'll be eating and drinking our weight at Epcot during F&W, but I like to have them to be safe!

What's next? FP+, MNSSHP ticket + costume (once I finalize my class schedule for the fall, since the ticket is non-refundable), and potentially Keys to the Kingdom!

Let's see how long I can keep this up!

I just found out I can do 3 nights at All-Star Music and 1 night at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and save $150! Decisions, decisions...

Planning is so much fun and the possibilities are endless at Disney. But the Efteling is still the best park in the real world;) Papier hier!

Dank u wel ;) I visited for one day right at the start of Winter Efteling last year (which meant de Vliegende Hollander and Piraña were closed :(), and it was life-changing! I need to go back!

Thanks! French Quarter, right? It's my first time staying there, so I'm really looking forward to it!

PULL THE LEVER KRONK! The Emperor's New Groove popped up on Netflix, so now Disney is really on my mind! (it reminds me of that time in high school when I dressed up as Yzma...)

So anyway...I procured a few things in advance of my trip!
A lovely little Tower of Terror pack courtesy of eBay, a set of Lion King pins from Disney Movie Rewards, and a $25 gift card for doing a DVC "phone tour" (if you get an email about this, definitely take advantage of it!).

If you do end up at CSR and plan to take the buses, we stayed in Cabanas 8b earlier this month. We requested close to transportation and were three doors away from the stairs that led right to our bus stop. Our stop was second to last for pick up and drop off but we never had a problem getting a seat. It was also only about a five minute walk to El Centro for the food court and whatnot.

(sorry for the delay!) Thanks for the info! I was torn about requesting a specific section. A small area of Casitas is under construction (which shouldn't be a big deal, but my mom gets weird about it ever since we stayed at the Poly while the Lava Pool was being built), otherwise that would be the most convenient - first bus stop, and relatively close to El Centro.

Cabanas is also close to El Centro, but it's the last (or second-to-last) bus stop, so I was concerned about transportation. But if you didn't have any issues, then I might just request Cabanas/close to transportation. It's quite possible that I'm overthinking this :)

After bonding with a CM about how we have to sing Hollaback Girl if we have any hope of spelling "banana" correctly, our Keys to the Kingdom tour is BOOKED! Of course the day that we really wanted was unavailable, so now we have to finagle with our itinerary a bit to make it work...that just means a little more park hopping than we intended! Of course this happened right after I booked our FPs...so I'm kind of in the dark as to whether or not I made the right choices...

Day 1
Morning - Keys to the Kingdom
Afternoon - Epcot
FP+: Mission:SPACE, Spaceship Earth, and Soarin' between 3:00pm and 6:30pm
Day 2
Morning - Epcot
Afternoon - Magic Kingdom (MNSSHP)
FP+: 7DMT, Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain between 1:30pm and 5:00pm
Day 3
Morning - Animal Kingdom
FP+: DINOSAUR, Kali, Finding Nemo between 9:30am and 1:00pm
Whenever we finish at AK - Magic Kingdom

Day 4
Morning - Disney's Hollywood Studios
FP+ Tower of Terror, Toy Story Midway Mania, Star Tours between 9:00am and 12:30pm (is it worth it to maybe change one of these to Indy?)
Whenever we finish at DHS - Magic Kingdom
*Also not sure if it's better to spend the morning at MK or DHS...advice?

Day 5
Morning - Epcot
Afternoon - Magic Kingdom
FP+: Splash Mountain, Anna & Elsa, Pirates between 3:00pm and 6:00pm
*this is also up for debate. I only booked FP+ at MK because Anna & Elsa was available, but I'm not sure if we'll want/need any more time at MK...

Project for this weekend: scour my local mall/thrift shops for some Wilderness Explorer-inspired gear for MNSSHP!! I think I may be paying a visit to my local Girl Scout store...
