Hall of Presidents question

When does the Hall of Presidents normally shut down to add a new animatronic to the set (aka: new president)? I assume it most likely would occur after the Christmas holiday?

(just an FYI: I do not want to make this a political argument about "Vote Bush" or "Vote Kerry".)

George Bush first appeared in October of 2001. From what I remember when Clinton was added, it seems to take them about 8-10 months to add a new president into the show.

It seems reasonable that if a change is necessary the timeline would be similar.

Since Bush was voted in at the end of 2000, HoP wasn't shut down until October. When did the actual shutdown take place and for how long?

Everything I'm seeing suggests that it closed in mid August; somewhere around the 20th but maybe a few days earlier. I can't confirm the exact date it reopened but it looks like it was around 10/17/01.

My wife and I were at Disney World for our honeymoon Jan 21- 28 2001. HoP was shut down and I asked a cast member about it. He told me that it was open during the morning of Jan 20 but shut down as soon as Bush was sworn in. Since the HoP was now "outdated" as he put it it would remain closed untill the fall of 2001 when the new animatronic was added. Hope this helps.
