News Guided Tours Return to Disneyland

There used to be pass holder discounts on some tours. I was considering taking the horticulture tour.
What is "a wonderful wintry ride on “it’s a small world” Holiday"? Is there some add on, or are we paying to ride Small World?
It would be fun to have snacks where Walt and his family would hang out, but having read most of the Disneyland trivia books and a few bios on Walt, I'm not sure what I'd get out of a guided tour down Main Street.

Astroturf is a single brand, but not the only brand of artificial grass. And they are not all made by Monsanto.

So we don't know its actually "Astroturf" that is being used at DL.

For all we know they went down to the Synthetic Grass Store in Anaheim and put in a bulk order.

I would have agreed with you if he hadn't linked directly to the Astroturf website. :)

Also just an FYI since we're talking about brands, Astroturf itself isn't even part of Monsanto any more. They sold off the product in the 80s and was owned by various companies until it came under German ownership by a company called SportGroup in 2006.

I remember their DL Astroturf exhibit. They included a list of colleges where it was installed. Mine was one of them, but that was not the reason I went there.

There was nothing as funny as a football game in the rain. No one could stop sliding; they just kept going until their momentum petered out.

My school later dropped football.

My dear lady, thank you for the late night laugh! 🤣

As I remember, it became a real problem at stadiums in those early years. And by the 1970's it was finally okay to admit that the latest manmade fiber wasn't as neat as the jingles said it was. AstroTurf was one of those first products to face that scrutiny.

Everyone sing along now!... "Better things for better living from chemistry, for the finer world we want! Better things for better living from chemistry, that's the promise of DuPont!"

My school later dropped football.

I understand that they've made impressive strides in technology in manmade turf. Maybe it's time to take another look at football at your alma mater? Then again, it's probably best that schools focus on... you know... schooling, rather than sports. ;)

Gawd, I love Wikipedia! 😁

I just hit that AstroTurf link again, and realized that their opening image is of Husky Stadium at the University of Washington, in Seattle.

If you can't grow some decent lawn in Seattle, the mild and drizzly climate literally made for growing lawn automatically, then what can you do???

Hey if it wasn't for Wikipedia (or just a simple Google search that takes 30 seconds to find out information without using Wikipedia, amazing what you can do in 2022) how would one be informed of product ownership changes....

And hey maybe the Huskies think that the artificial turf from Astroturf will help them bring a National Championship home after 31 years.
