I am both. Into darkness is by far my most anticipated movie of the year and I loved the first, so it is a bit sad that he will not be doing the 3rd. Of course on the other hand I love star wars (my favorite franchise) and I am so excited to see what a real director can do with the franchise. J.J. just seems to be so perfect for the job of breathing new life into star wars. He was my number one choice by far so that makes me happy.I don't know whether to be sad that this is JJ's last Star Trek or excited that this is the guy they chose to make more Star Wars. Lensflares aside, the guy knows how to make a great sci-fi ride of a movie.
Yes.I believe JJ abrams is going to direct the new star wars film too ?
I think the writers said they didn't want to do more time travel. There's enough of that in Star Trek.LOL... What, no time travel this time?
Actually, in this trailer - it looks like the Enterprise comes back up out of San Fran Bay.

Me too, but check out the last trailer (#3) above... It's clearly rising UP and a voice says something like, "...it's not over...". But yeah, trailers don't mean anything - they're generally random clips stitched together as production progresses and they get scenes in the can.I originally thought the same thing. But one of the previews out seems to clearly show the Enterprise crashing into the bay and the city. But, they like to play around with the editing of previews. So ya never know.

Honestly, this movie looks okay, but in premise is ridiculous. How many ST movies will there be some super evil villain looking for revenge on Earth? C'mon already... Khan (Wrath of Khan), Shinzon (Nemesis), Nero (Star Trek)... They're. All. The. Same. (Spoken like Kirk)
