Guess the movie from the quote (no googling)

Seriously? That one is so easy I did not think it was worth bothering. One of the very best lines in a movie full of memorable quotes.

Go rent it, or better yet buy it because you will want to watch it over and over again. Great movie. You will laugh and cry, more than once.

I've seen bits and pieces of it, though, and I just don't find it interesting. I know I'm in the minority. This seems to be the case for me with a lot of popular movies. For example, another movie I don't like (but have seen) is Wizard of Oz.

Wow! I said it was my second favorite...because The Wizard of Oz is my all time favorite. Guess we would not agree on lots of movies then...can we agree on that? :)

I too don't care for the movie that much. It's an average movie for me, but I think it's very overhyped. The Wizard of Oz is decent, though.

I find a lot of movies to be overhyped. I don't know if it's the high expectations going in, but there have been very few that lived up to those expectations and I find them just average.

That movie I absolutely love! Jimmy Stewart is one of my favorite actors.
OK, so there is hope for you yet. We watch It's a Wonderful Life at least twice each year. It usually comes on Thanksgiving day and at least once more before Christmas and though we have it on DVD, we watch it on TV, commercials and all, for some reason. We like Miracle on 34th Street as well and we were both saddened to hear of the leading lady's death yesterday. She also appeared in several old John Wayne movies and in The Parent Trap.
On a side note, if for some reason there happens to be the colorized version of It's a Wonderful Life playing, we skip it. Seems like it is just not right being in color. Maybe that just shows our age.

I love The Parent Trap, too! She was great in that movie. I also don't like the color version of It's A Wonderful Life - just looks weird to me.

Yay, we agree on some things! :cat:

Maureen O'Hara was a lovely actress. May she RIP.

I enjoy the Miracle on 34th Street in black and white. (I also love the 1938, A Christmas Carol, in black and white, as well as the 1951, Scrooge, in black and white.) And yes, It's a Wonderful Life in black and white, too!!
