I’m sure this has been discussed somewhere in the 113 page thread but can someone help me out here? My son was watching a video of the ride on YouTube and when Gamora says “I think we have to go back” this whole discussion takes place with the other Guardians before the ride actually launches.

I’ve been on the ride 6 times now and have never heard this before. Did this get cut shortly after the ride opened? I attached the video of reference and you can start watching at the 12:18 mark.

Gamora actually says "I think we jumped back". At this point the coaster should launch backwards, but if there's a delay in the ride (like the next block isn't clear or unload is backed up), the coaster has to hold in place. So when that happens, some "holding pattern" dialogue plays. Starts off with Gamora continuining "...all the way back". Then Peter "All the way back...to the Big Bang?" Then it continues on with banter between the Guardians until the coaster is clear to launch. There is a limit to this extra dialogue so like in the video you linked, they were stuck in silence for a couple secs after the last dialogue from Drax.

This was very common to see when the ride first opened since CMs were still training and achieving maximum efficiency. Now a year later seems like they've got things handled and holding patterns like this rarely happen.

ROTR and MMRR have the same holding pattern dialogue if things get backed up, very common to see on Disney's new rides these days.
