Just heard on Lou Mongello's podcast that Disney is going to host a 3D preview event for GotG at DHS.

Apparently, Universal's contract only applies to character families that already appear at MSI.... And since the Guardians are their own separate thing (loosely associated with The Avengers ala Wolverine and Spidey) with no representation at IoA, Disney is capitalizing on it as best they can.

Unfortunately there must be other legal considerations....Disneyland is getting a GotG 4D preview. Captain Eo is being put on hold and temporary effects are being added to the Magic Eye Theater.

So....kind of big news I think, especially with the rumored overhaul of the Imagination Pavilion (that was supposedly going to start in January but never happened)

Is Disney eyeing GotG as a viable replacement for Captain Eo?

Could the DL 4D preview be their way to test audience reaction while simultaneously negotiating with Uni for Florida?

EDIT - used wrong word. This is a PREVIEW, not a premiere.

I still dont get how GOTG can be seen as an active replacement for captain EO.

The GOTG comic is gruesome sometimes.. and Rocket is hardly a "teen" idol.

He's made appearances on Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Ultimate Spider-Man, which aren't exactly TV-MA.

So there you have it..DL's will be better utilizing the moveable floor and in room effect as DHS is just a 3D preview....It looks like Disney knew what to do as of being very careful not making the DHS version a ride.....Even if the floor just moved...

but he never as been THAT bad (albeit his occasional run to nail hot girls.. even if they are skrulls and being a drunk)

We can agree on disagree, its clear we have different opinions on what is actually worse for the kids.

Well, that's one example, as his alcoholism has never been touched and likely never will. Any version of Daredevil that's appeared in cartoons is NEVER EVER going to mention how he used to date a hoo... Oops, family board. Erm... used to date a hoop-earring wearing woman who had some personal issues.

We can agree that they will have to sanitize a lot on 3 of the main characters. All to make them fully available for the entire family. (Rocket, Gamora and Drax)

Iron Man is rather prominently featured at the impact site.

Without leaks there is no way to know Universal's reaction, and I image any such leaks would more likely come from Universal who has been clamping down. If they consider this a breach the dispute goes to arbitration in New York, so there will not be any public records like there would be had the matter been taken to the courts.

That's assuming that Disney and Uni didn't hash this out beforehand.
