Guaranteed Entry ?

Having just booked for Christmas 2004 ( Dec 16 - Jan 2 05 ) at the Grosvenor Resort ,we're wondering about entry to the parks ie; M.K. on Christmas Day and Epcot on New Years Eve.We've always stayed on-site in the summer months and never had to worry about entry. We've read a few times about Guaranteed Entry for resort guests but wonder where we fit in, are we classed as on or off-site? If we're classed as off-site what chance do we have of entry to the above parks on the two days mentioned above?

I could very well be mistaken however, I don't think Hotel Plaza qualifies for when then parks start filling up. The only resorts that qualify would be Disney resorts and the Swan & Dolphin.

Keep in mind... even if you are staying at a Disney resort, it does not gurantee you entry. If the park reaches capacity, it is closed off to EVERYONE.

Fantasia Boi is correct. Christmas 1996 we went to MK and had dinner PS at LTT. Our friends were going to meat us for a quick visit before we ate. They were staying at CBR and we were at OKW. They tried to enter MK at 5:30 and were not allowed in..park was at total capacity so noone could enter. This past New Year's Eve, we started out at MGM and had no problem parkhopping to Epcot at 6:00pm. Just another reminder, having a PS at a restaurant in the park will not get to in if it is at capacity.

Nope, it's never been that way... it's just not safe. When that park reaches capacity... It's full. No type of pass will get you in.

However, what does exist... when the park NEARS capacity... entry is restricted to Disney Resort Guests only. Non-resort guests will not be let in, no matter what type of pass or priority seating they may have.

Thanks for clearing that up, FantasiaBoi.

Although, I too read somewhere (can't remember where, but I am sure it was somewhere official) that if you stayed on property, you were guaranteed admission into the full parks.

I understand about the maximum capacity of the parks. If the park is full...it's full. However, why tell folks that they can get into a full park if they are on-site guests? Maybe to sell more Ultimate Passes...beats me.

I think you might have read that a bit wrong... We guarantee that you can get into the park as it nears capacity... when we close it off to offsite guests... but, when it does fill up... that's it. Can't argue with safety reasons. *shrug*

Who knows.

Although reading "guaranteed admission" & "admission when the park nears capacity" is two totally different things.....

Now, that I think about it, I think it was the travel agent who told me about the so-called "guaranteed admission". That poon. I'll take your word for it, hell, you should know, you work there.

By the way, are you a bus driver or a monorail driver?

All of the Hotel Plaza Blvd. resorts qualify you for the early entry/extra magic hour and the "other" stuff (except parking).

I thought all but one pulled out of the early entry deal? I could have sworn I heard some talk of that from another board.

Yes, you are correct. They all pulled out back when WDW did the Character Caravan. Then sloooowly they came back on line. The Hilton almost took Disney to court. There are still some hard feelings but WDW is doing its best to make up.

I second that. At least that´s what they told me in the trainings, and what I experienced too. :animwink:
