Group Project -- THREAD FOUR -- Finalized Attraction Ideas

This thread is associated with the longterm group imagineering project. Thus far, we have chosen the basic attraction we are going to create. It is a Monsters Inc. Ride that will be going in MGM Studios.

In the previous thread, entitled "BLUE SKY" a bunch of members formulated some great ideas on what this attraction will be like. The Blue sky thread can be found here.

In this thread, I ask you to list at most 4 finalized ideas. These ideas will then be placed into a poll in which the winning attraction idea will be the one we create!:)

Mike and Sully's Monstrous Task

Guests enter the Monsters Inc. Factory as new hires to help out with a major shipment error that Mike and Sully have been put incharge off. At their new satellite factories across the world, the barrel of laughs have been mis-distributed. The guests job is then to help distrubute them correctly. Guests will load two person "Monsto-Mobiles" these will teleport the barrels of laughter to their proper location. Guest then board these AGV's and drive through a serries of rooms finding and teleporting as many barrerls of laughter as they can before time runs out and Auto-piot then guides the back to the station. One person would drive, the other would opporate the telporter which would be a simple on and off switch.

This would load much like bumper cars and may have three or four diffrent areas to increase flow as probably about 4-5 min would be alloted as the timed length


Monsters Inc. Laugh Caper

Guests would go through an elaborate pre-show with AA scenes setting up the story under the guise of taking a walking tour through the Monsters Inc. Laugh Factory of a power shortage in Monsteropllois, a team of monster have been dispensed to collect more power (laughter). While they have been dispensed a glitch happens which prevents Monsters from sending back the laughter they collect, therefore since you happen to be there, the guests are then dispensed into a large room hovercrafts underneath a black light(It would be a compounded "Monster/Octopus" flatride, compound meaning where one set of seats would be another whole ride system is there instead , Yes this would be massive :) )

Guests would be loaded into their hovercrafts, these would be the seats, the arms of the device would be hidden in the black light or perhaps underneath a faux floor.

Anyways guests would load into these hover crafts in the black light show room, the hover crafts would then seemingly take off and twirl and twists past black lit AA scenes where guests would use their laughter vacuums to suck up the laughter (aiming for a target explained as the Humor Point a point at which the entire laugh can be sucked through into the vacuum) Then guests would shoot at these with vacuum themed laser guns.

Here comes the semi-mechanical overhaul part, the giant mechanism would be on a hydraulic lift platform that would raise it up to the top of the show room tower during take off , as the ride would progress the platform would lower in a timed manner that guests would not see the same scene and get the effect that they are twirling and twisting around flying about the earth.

The Return of Randall

Randall has somehow returned from the bayou where he was dumped in the movie, and is out to ruin the Monsters Inc. Laugh Factory. Mike and Sulley have recruited you to go in to some of the millions of doors to find the laughs and defeat Randall and his dozens of cronies. The ride system is similar to the Setpoint suspended coasters (RollerSoaker at Hershey Park, etc.), but instead of water, you get "Laugh Blasters", which stun Randall and crew with a stream of high intensity laughter (think the Ion Blasters on Buzz). Basically, you leave the station on a random door, are raised to the height of the door chamber and are flung in. You see Randall dart into a door, swing a left down a hill, and into that door, which is in Spain. After shooting for a little bit, you follow Randall out the door, into the chamber, and into a bedroom in Texas. You switch bedrooms several more times, until you reach a chamber similar to the lab where Randall tested the Scream Extractor, and once again he has taken Boo hostage!(Unbelieavablely advanced AA figures for Randall and Boo) You seize the chance to do away with Randall once and for all, which you do, sending him off to the slums of New York. You reach the factory to a cheering crowd, you have won the fight!

Escape From Monster's Inc.

The story starts out that you are in your house. You are cleaning out your old bedroom closet. Once guests proceed into the closet, the door shuts suddenly and alarms start blaring. You've have been accidentally ushered off into the Monster World. All of a sudden, a screen in front of the guests illuminates. Mike and Sully appear and explain that a door was accidentally left open. The other monsters believe the Humans to be toxic and as a result they are trying to capture the humans (guests). Mike and Sully, who know that humans are not toxic, are going to try to locate the proper door to get the humans back to the human world. As the end of the preshow, voices can be heard in the background as other monsters try to break in to capture the humans. A door opens and they enter the scarefloor...a train of doors (a hanging roller coaster train) awaits the guests for boarding. They must board this train of doors to reach the proper door home. Thus, they laucnh into the darkness in search of the propr door. Throughout the ride, they travel through various doors that lead them to different areas of the country (consequently the scenry changes dramtically throughout the ride). At the end of the ride, the right door is located...and the train charges towards it. The door is closed, but opens at the last second. The train slows and the guests are back in the house at the beginning. Mike and Sully wave good bye!
