Great Park NEWS and PICS

Well back from my trip and thought I would share a couple of thoughts (which could be considered news even if some will consider it old):

The Stunt Show construction is movie along quite nicely, in fact at both the Stunt Show and E:E they seem to have non-stop construction. Also for those who don't know, the CMs at the backlot tour tell guest while on the tour that a new show is being built along the tour area (those aren't the words, but thats the idea).

The parks were not all that full, perhaps it was because of the time of day, but it seemed that during other summers the parks were much better filled.

M:S is a great ride and doesn't make you sick at all...I went on it three times and found it to be quite enjoyable each time. I even recommend this ride for those who don't like that "quizzy" feeling in the stomach...the ride isn't at all "intense" in the traditional sense...at least I don't think so...but you do feel the G-forces (which makes the ride interesting). Also each time I rode it I found the experience different...the last time being the one where I felt more of the G-forces (I don't know if this is related to where in the pod you sit or the centrifuge itself). And this ride's hype may be a tad bit too much...but take it from me...don't let your imagination run wild and cause your expecations of this ride to be too much. IT IS THE BEST RIDE AT EPCOT (a CM agreed with me and followed that statement with a...FOR NOW...hmmmm).

New Guide maps are in...M:S is featured on the Epcot map as is The Land's back portion (which leads me to think that perhaps this area will be somehow tie into the new Soarin' Pavilion).

I have great pics of E:E and Buzz photo construction and other pics, just click on the link.

BTW they were filiming different commercials around WDW...don't know if they were related...have a pic of that too.

Holy cow...can this be seen by the "General Public"???

EDIT: The area in the Land is not new. What is shown is greenhouse space...Soarin' would be on the Imagination side. :)

Thanks for the news!

Yeah I know about the green house and stuff...I guess I worded it wrong...I meant to say that they were new on the guide map.

I think they can make it look like part of an airport...maybe like hangars or what not, even if its part of the land pavilion.

Just some thoughts.

I guess they are the ones doing the infrastructure work for the E:E site...... like they did for IOA.

I wonder if there was a reason for picking that particular company.....hmmmmm........

That is EXACTLY how I feel about Mission Space. I took too much stock in the overhyping and it kinda ruined my first ride but after that I enjoyed it SO much more. And it is definately the best ride in Epcot and it definately top 5 on Disney property. My best advice on riding Mission Space is just to expect another simulator ride, just like the underrated Body Wars and Star Tours, and not to expect all this F-Ticket bull we've been hearing and enjoy the heck out of it. I wish I had the chance to do that again.

Great update!

The guide maps first came out on Sunday, August 10th.

The land description is the same....and for MS:

"Wonder what it feels like to be an astronaut? Time to find out. Strap in and get ready for launch aboard the most thrilling attraction in Disney History! Be the Pilot, Navigator, Engineer, or Commander on your sometimes trubulent, always exciting, mission to Mars."

Would you mind posting the front cover of the guide map?

THANKS!! That is a great shot of the building!

Yea...but now that the issue of the building is brought up...I starting thinking after I rode M:S and went back on...if people are getting confused before they get on M:S...everytime I went on I saw a crowd infront of the enterance (by where they show the model of the pod)...they seemed lost....maybe they were wondering which way to go or whether they should go on.

Another thing I noticed was that people seemed to disregard M:S as if it were closed when it was obvious that people were going in and out (don't know what to make of that).

I was surprised that they came out with the guide maps so soon before the so-called official date...in fact I almost disregarded the guide map altogether because I never use them...lucky for me though my eyes caught the image infront of the map and I knew they were new......and for those who don't know the "Epcot hand" thing over space ship earth doesn't appear illustrated on the new guide map.....but thats not new (I think).

Anyways just some more thoughts.

Just wanted to say that you're right. The sign/wand disappeared from the maps when the 100 Years of Magic celebration ended.
