So, what's the deal with this attraction.

I've watched a few Youtube videos. The animatronics are amazing but is this something a Brit would be able to appreciate. It seems to be steeped in a level of patriotism we don't tend to 'do' over here :)

What are people's thoughts about it? Is it better or worse with The Disney Story included in the attraction? Which bit do people prefer? Lincoln or the Disney Story?

It's worth seeing at least once, and the point made above about the Civil War education is a good one. It's a short presentation, and classic Disneyland.

Patriotic to the point that Americans cry. Also, a great place to beat the heat on a summer day. The WDW version is a lot cooler.

The Lincoln show is as much a piece of Disney history as it is an attraction based on American history -- so I say yes, you will be able to appreciate it if you have an appreciation for the history of Disney, WED, and the 64/65 World's Fair. Always fun to poke around the Opera House and look at the Disney art and memorabilia while you wait for the show to start and is a great way to escape the heat or crowds on hot/busy days.

It's extremely well-done. The animatronic is good -- uncanny valley good. Lincoln is widely regarded as the greatest US President and the patriotic content isn't exactly the kind of chest pounding that you might find to be a turn off.

Wow. Thanks for all the replies. Disneyland is on our family's bucket list. We did Paris for the first time with our kids last year (the second visit for my wife and I. My wife and I did Florida before the kids came into the world and we plan to visit again sometime in the next few years, but we'd love to be able to California as well. I certainly would love to see it but I can see it being a bit dull for the kids (and probably the wife as well!)

I didn't know WDW had a version, or do you mean The Hall of Presidents? That's one of the few attractions my wife and I didn't bother with on our trip to Florida 8 years ago (the other was Peter Pan but that was more to do with the insane queues).

Yes, Hall of Presidents! What a fantastic show. Animatronics combined with film, slides and animation. If this one doesn't make you shed a tear, your not American. And its on youtube.

The current Lincoln show actually has elements of both MK's Hall of Presidents and EPCOT's American Adventure. You either love it or hate it I think. I love it and always make a point to see it when I can as there's very little left at DL like it.

It's really short - 10-15 minutes maybe? There's never a wait, so if you do find it boring it's not like you'll lose a lot of touring time doing so. It would be kind of a shame for you to come all the way to California and skip one of Walt Disney's greatest pieces of showmanship, and there isn't anything remotely like it at DLP.

It's literally right next to the entrance -- so you can either do it on your way out or before hopping over to DCA. Really easy to fit in to a day!

I found it very informative and and beautifully done, even as another non American. There was a song about two brothers who fought on different sides in the civil war that almost made me cry!
