Hello,

I have seen a lot of talk about buying Disney Gift cards to use and have a quick question about using them with dining. We are doing the DDP and I know that we need to tip based on the cost of the meal. Is it possible to tip using our magic bands and then go back to the resort and pay that charge with a gift card? We are trying to plan out the money we will spend and this would make it easier.

Thanks!

Yes you can do that.
You could also just give the gift card directly to your server and have the tip deducted from the card then...saves you from having to visit the front desk to pay off your MagicBand charge.

Even Better! Thank you so much for the quick answer @Tuvalu

I end up going to WDW with a wallet full of gift cards in different amounts, given to me as gifts and presents throughout the year. I put a sticker on the card I'm using and keep a running balance of whats left on the card Ive used so as I use it I'm aware of the remaining balance. It helps when using a card multiple times for small increments over time as you will be doing for tips to keep track of whats left.

Thank you, that is a brilliant plan and will make things go much smoother. My girls were both gifted a couple gift cards for Christmas for their "gift shopping", so they are covered!

But if there are errors is easier to fix it not on the gift card. Pros and cons to each

You can also consolidate all your cards onto 1 Card. Just go to
Disneygiftcard.com. Create an account and then select manage cards. Once you have transferred balances you can delete the 0 balance cards from your account.

I'm not positive, but I think there's a $1,000 limit on combining balances that way.
