I just got back from a 4 day vacation there during christmas.. I have to say I was very impressed with the hotel on everything except Transportation.. I found that the most expensive hotels had the fewest buses to MGM, Downtown and Animal kingdom.. When we went to Downtown we waited almost a hour for a bus to show up... It was like that every morning.. It seemed like they had only one, max 2 buses for MGM/Animal Kingdom/Downtown running for each of those..

I personally think for all the money it costs to stay at the deluxe resorts we should get more frequent bus transportation..

Has anyone else noticed this?

I have seen it both ways from the Magic Kingdom resorts. Slow at times and other weeks when there seemed to be no wait at all. Sorry you had a bad experience, but that hotel is nice isnt it.

Next time you might want to try taking the monorail over to the TTC, then take your bus from there. It seems that they run more frequently over there. Just a suggestion.

I totally agree.....we stayed at the AKL in Sept and buses were horrible going and coming from downtown Disney and several other places. Here I am paying for a Deluxe resort and I see 4 buses going back to the all stars and moderte resorts before I see one for Lion King. The only way we ever got back was another aggressive visitor stepped on a Coranodo Springs bus and demanded a ride to the AKL. This bus driver informed I guess the control center that we were getting upset.

I decided then if I am staying in a deluxe hotel I just won't visit Downtown Disney. However the idea above sounds good.

Yea def sounds like a good idea.. Also at some point couldnt you go from Downtown Disney to a park? I heard one of the drivers say that budget cuts eliminated the West Side stop, so did they also eliminate buses to the parks from Downtown?

Is that what happend to the West Side Stop? We were down in October, and after walking the whole thing, we just wanted to get on a bus and go back to the AKL. I was sure there wa a bus stop by Cirque Du Soleil, but I just couldn't find it. We just walked back to the PI stop, being accosted by like 5 cab cars that kept stopping and asking if we need a ride.
