I have stayed at the grandflo several times and have not found a partiuclar room we had to have. In general all rooms except the doomer are great. My only complaint is the walls are a little thin, you can here almost everything next door.

Never stayed there so I don't know any room numbers,
however, I'm sure there are some rooms with lagoon / MK / both views, these would be my recommendation.
I'm sure sooner or later someone will happen by this post and give you more info!

What was wrong with the dormer room? Is it just because it's smaller?

I always thought those rooms looked great (from pictures -- too poor to stay there) and they also have a completely private balcony.

The dormer rooms are shorter in length by about 3 feet, it makes for a smaller room and much smaller feeling because the ceiling slants down. Also the railings on dormer balconies are higher and solid so it makes it more dificult to see anything other than sky if you're sitting in your room or on the bed. Sago Cay and Conch Key have nice MK views at the end of the buildings, and Boca Chica has pretty goof MK views but you aren't looking directly at the castle. You will only be able to stay in a room with this type of view if you reserved a lagoon view in 2006 or a MK view in 2007. Have a great time! We're staying there for our 5 year anniversary next year and can't wait!

The rooms in Boca Chica- lagoon side, to me, seem to have the most "comprehensive" views... comprehensive because you can pretty much view the entire lagoon area- you can see the MK off to the left (if standing on the balcony), Contemporary directly in front of you, Poly off to the right... The MK fireworks and Electric Light Pageant are readily viewed from these rooms. Downside-- we hear noise from the MK (train whistle, primarily!)... but you kind of expect that when you're staying in a room facing the park! Maybe that's part of the magic!!! But, the views are pretty nice. And on a really nice day, you can open the balcony doors and enjoy the sounds of the lagoon and get a nice breeze blowing in. It was nice, too, to be able to watch family members riding the SeaRaycers on the lagoon while a child was napping.

For a quite, but nice view, the rooms on the lagoon side of Big Pine. You just have the beach and a view of the Poly and Wedding Chapel- not really interesting, but it's pleasant!

The rooms are good unless you have a pool view... It's not bad... but the trees have grown up over the years.

I always choose Conch Key - it's the smallest building - very quiet - close to the boat, marina, pool and only one building away from Gasparilla Grill and the mail building. The Gf is easy to get around - it's not as spread out as the others, like the Poly, although I love the poly for the relaxed atmosphere and will stay there next (I've been to the GF 3 times in a row and love both...)

This time I was in room 7513. Dormer room with a view of the Marina...

I stayed in a dormer room this time and loved it. Yes it may be a little shorter than the other rooms, but it definately didn't feel that way. They have cathedral ceilings and it makes the room seem very large and lofty. I loved it.

Here's some pictures of my room (and me getting ready for MVMCP...) I still have to learn how to size them... but if you click on them...it should work...

You will have a wonderful time. I stayed in a 1bdr suite with a Mk view and it was fantastic, the service at the GF can't be beat and I can't wait until next June when I stay at the GF again.
